• Identify applicable requirements, negotiate and draft data processing agreement with third-party technology providers.
• Perform data protection impact assessments and transfer impact assessments as may be required under the data protection laws applicable to the personal data processing activities undertaken by the company.
• Ensure that appropriate data security requirements and controls are effectively negotiated into the contracts with third-party suppliers.
• Monitor data protection law requirements and developments in key jurisdictions of corporate clients.

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Law and admitted to the Singapore Bar with at least 3PQE with private practice and/or in-house experience.
• Experience with negotiating commercial contracts with technology companies.
• Experience managing data protection topics under the PDPA, and ideally under GDPR and other laws of major jurisdictions.
• Experience working in international environments and communicating effectively with international clients and suppliers of various cultural backgrounds.
• Takes initiative and self-motivated, works cohesively in a team.
• Handles uncertainty effectively and is biased to take the lead to resolve uncertainties in commercial negotiations.
• Highly organized and able to effectively run in parallel multiple negotiations and topics.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Charming but effective and firm negotiator.
• Willingness to travel.

What Will You Do?

You will be in a pioneer team in HDB’s Information Services Group that seeks to embrace DevSecOps culture and practices for application development. With the goal of creating cross-functional teams that would be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of IT services, we aim to adopt a you-code-it, you-run-it approach to software product development and maintenance. The success of our endeavour will form the blueprint upon which all subsequent in-house DevSecOps teams can be modelled after.

As a software engineer on this team, you will work with fellow developers, your Technical Lead, Product Owner and ScrumMaster in iteratively delivering IT solutions for both internal and external stakeholders of HDB. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to different aspects of software delivery, including solution design, CI/CD pipeline configurations, frontend and backend development, and test automation.

You will be a Great Fit if you Have:

- 2+ years frontend and/or backend software engineering experience in building scalable products, with a demonstrated ability in designing and building well-structured enterprise applications on commercial cloud:
o Skilled in modern web application technology stack, such as React.js, FastAPI, Django, Spring, Amazon DynamoDB, PostgreSQL
o Experienced in development and deployment on commercial cloud such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure
o Experienced in containerisation technologies, such as Docker, AWS ECS and Kubernetes
o Has exposure to infrastructure provision tools, such as Terraform and Ansible
o Embraces the concept of DevSecOps and CI/CD, with experience in relevant CI technologies such as Git, Gitlab, and Jenkins
o Understands the concept of Secure-By-Design Lifecycle for Agile and the utilisation of technologies for SAST and DAST
o Practised Test-Driven Development with the utilisation of automated testing
