An accounts supervisor is the leader of the accounts team. The candidate should have a positive attitude in facing challenges and the interest in exploring new ways of doing things. He/ she should be a good influencer to the team in moulding and bringing the team together to meet the firm’s objectives and goal.

On the ground level, the job scope of an accounts supervisor is:

1. To plan, schedule and assign resources to routine accounting (including GST reporting), business support, compilation, and taxation jobs. This includes managing the accounts team and to monitor the performance of the jobs to ensure services are provided timely and meeting the requirements of the clients.

2. To coach and develop the accounts team in terms of technical skills and soft skills. This includes providing timely performance feedback to the team and clear goal and development target to the team.

3. To support partner in business development i.e. meeting new clients and identifying opportunities for providing non-audit services to clients from various industries.

Technical skills of a team leader:

1. Competency with routine accounting and business processes

2. Accounting knowledge, GST and Income tax reporting requirements, and ACRA requirements on companies and partnership

4. Able to operate various accounting software is an advantage

1. To proactively plan and execute accounting, business support, compilation, and taxation jobs for an assigned portfolio of clients from various industries to ensure timely delivery of service.

2. To update team leader timely on job progress, discuss and consult on issues early to prevent delay in service delivery.

3. To work closely with client’s management personnel in providing accounting information to support their business decision making and giving value-adding advice.

4. To coach and develop junior team members in terms of technical skills and soft skills. This includes providing timely performance feedback to the team members. For bigger jobs, you will work together with the junior team members to expedite the delivery of the service to clients.

5. To meet prospective clients and identify opportunities for service improvement and development of clientele.

Responsibilities:-

• Respond inquiries via phone, email or in person
• Coordinate with internal secretarial teams to deliver client services, eg: assist in client due diligence
• Ad-hoc administration in other work areas as and when required/necessary

Requirements:-

• 'O' level, NiTEC, Diploma, Business Admin or equivalent
• Fresh graduates will be considered for junior position
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Good oral and written communications in English are essentials
• Independent, multi-tasking, good personality with positive attitude
