Our client in the Renewable Energy industry is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Planner and Analyst to join their team. In this role, the individual will be responsible for assessing the financial viability and profitability of investments, with a primary focus on solar projects. They will analyze financial data, conduct risk assessments, and develop comprehensive financial models to support decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
Financial Modeling
- Develop and maintain complex models to assess investment feasibility and internal rate of return (IRR).
- Factor in project costs, tax incentives, financing options, energy forecasts, and revenue streams.
- Identify optimization areas to enhance IRR.
Risk Analysis
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to pinpoint financial risks and uncertainties.
- Provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
Market Research
- Stay updated on market trends, subsidies, regulatory changes, and industry developments.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate financial performance, investment opportunities, and risks to stakeholders, including investors and management.
Investment Analysis
- Evaluate investment opportunities and assess financial metrics such as IRR, net present value (NPV), payback period, and cash flow.
- Perform asset valuation using various methodologies, including discounted cash flow analysis.
- Evaluate and formulate business transaction structures.
Financing
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating external financial partners for competitive terms.
- Interface between management and financial partners to review project economics and assess customer creditworthiness.
Portfolio Management
- Monitor and report on the performance of existing investments.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare estimated versus actual financial performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CFA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial modeling within the renewable energy sector.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of renewable energy policies, regulations, and incentive programs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
