Duties & Responsibilities

Handling of customer questionnaires or documents related to product information, regulatory and religious compliance.

· Completion of customer questionnaires or documents related to product information, regulatory and religious compliance.

Provides regulatory technical support

· Work closely with the PIRA Manager to represent company and participating in trade association meetings.

· Provide technical support to customers and internal departments (sales, creation, operations, etc.) on product information and regulatory issues.

· Keep abreast of current food and flavour legislation and product information.

· Provide support to ensure appropriate regulatory and religious compliance of raw materials and flavour products. This includes legislation within Asia Pacific region, Halal, Kosher, GMO, Allergen and any technical product information related to flavour, food additive and food ingredients.

· Assist to contact relevant Government authorities accordingly to clarify any regulatory-related issues.

· Collaborate and interact as required with relevant personnel from other departments to communicate regulatory requirements.

· Provide support to the PIRA Manager in relevant SAP projects so as to have continuous improvements in the regulatory function. Assist to maintain regulatory and religious documentation system accordingly.

Manage religious management systems and support food safety management system

· Support in applications and audits to certify products Halal with MUIS. Tasks may include the following:

o Contact point for MUIS for routine Halal applications

o Assist in the activities required to coordinate the internal Halal audits

o Provide relevant support in any external audits involving Halal

o Assist in sustaining relevant communication or projects involved in order to ensure that continuous improvements are being made to the Halal Management System accordingly.

WSH related responsibilities

Experience

Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry, or related courses with at least 7 years of relevant experience in flavor or food and beverage industry

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related Science courses with at least 5 years of relevant experience in flavor or food and beverage industry

At least Masters in Food Science, Chemistry, or related Sciences with at least 1 year of relevant experience in flavor or food and beverage industry

Special Skills/Knowledge Required (Technical Competency)

· Intermediate knowledge and skills on regulatory knowledge to provide advice to stakeholders on regulatory compliance and legal matters related to support business decision making

· Intermediate knowledge and skills on regulatory risk assessment to analyse the impact of latest regulatory developments

· Intermediate knowledge and skills on measures/ practices to meet religious requirements such as Halal and Kosher in food manufacturing

· Intermediate knowledge and skills on food safety practices and quality system management in food manufacturing, in particular allergen managment

· Intermediate knowledge and skills on documentation control to facilitate referencing of process and systems information to comply with company requirements

• Actively support the teams in the TPM activities on the shopfloor.
• Coach the pillar leaders and members
• Promote and support cross-fertilisation of ideas, knowledge, standards and improvements
• Coordinate the support from external consultants if applicable

• Coordination with master pillar leaders and TPM coordinators
• Consistent measuring, monitoring and improvement of factory standards whilst safeguarding assets
• Ensure the implementation of the Best Practices as defined in the HPF BiC Repositories and Globe Business Excellence
• Optimise the use of systems to maintain and improve competitiveness
• Leadership of projects for improvements - Drive Factory initiatives to develop, implement and maintain sustainable improvements, cost reduction and competitiveness whilst maintaining Nestle Quality Standards
• Report & validation of project results - Monitoring the implementation of improvement intitatives within the factory, ensure that the benefits are properly measured and that the impact on production costs are clearly identified. Results are communicated to stakeholders.
• Training & methodological support - Practice and serve as a mentor to the leaders of focused improvement projects in the factory. Conducting and implementation of continuous improvement tools within the factory. Coordination of CI team activities (training, team formation, monitoring of progress, information sharing).
• Technical support for production including using industrial performance tools to ensure successful troubleshooting and debottlenecking of process flow related to equipment. Conduct on his own focused improvement projects, or coordinate and lead multi-functional teams to improve.
• Training, coaching and assessment for the factory and the local committees on GA practices
• Responsible to implement safety and environment practices in the workplace.

What will make you successful

• Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or related fields
• 3 to 6 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity
• Demonstrated capability to lead a group of people
• Intermediate knowledge of TPM or similar continuous improvement methodology
• Good understanding of the business needs
• Exposure to implementing continuous improvement and employee involvement techniques. Implementation experience of TPM.
