Responsibilities:
Housekeeping:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of housekeeping operations within the shopping mall.
- Develop and implement efficient cleaning protocols to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
Pest Control:
- Coordinate pest control activities, ensuring a pest-free environment.
- Collaborate with pest control vendors to conduct regular inspections and implement preventive measures.
Waste Disposal:
- Establish and manage waste disposal procedures, adhering to environmental regulations.
- Optimize waste management systems for efficiency and sustainability.
Landscaping:
- Supervise landscaping initiatives to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas.
- Implement sustainable landscaping practices to support environmental conservation.
Environmental Sanitation Programme:
- Design and execute environmental sanitation programs to promote a healthy and safe environment.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential environmental health hazards.
Cleaning and Disinfection:
- Set and monitor cleaning standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Implement disinfection protocols to maintain a hygienic environment, especially in high-touch areas.
Pest Management:
- Develop and enforce pest management strategies to prevent infestations.
- Monitor and analyse pest control metrics to continuously improve effectiveness.
Waste Management:
- Oversee waste segregation, recycling, and disposal procedures.
- Stay updated on waste management regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
Environmental Hygiene and Food Safety:
- Ensure compliance with environmental hygiene standards and food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with relevant authorities to uphold health and safety standards.
Maintenance of Kitchen Exhaust System:
- Supervise the maintenance of kitchen exhaust systems for optimal functionality.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and ensure safety.
Indoor Air Quality and Water Efficiency:
- Monitor indoor air quality and implement measures to enhance it.
- Implement water-efficient practices and technologies to minimize water consumption.
Contract Review and Renewal:
- Review existing contracts related to housekeeping, pest control, waste disposal, landscaping, and other environmental services.
- Negotiate contract terms, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and cost-effectiveness.
Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality environmental services.
- Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues to maintain service excellence.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within environmental service contracts.
- Streamline processes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize budget allocations.
Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure that all environmental service contracts comply with relevant environmental regulations.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact service agreements.
Performance Metrics:
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for environmental service contracts.
- Regularly assess and report on vendor performance against established metrics.
Renewable Practices Integration:
- Integrate renewable and sustainable practices into environmental service contracts.
- Encourage vendors to adopt eco-friendly methods and materials.
Contractual Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all environmental service contracts.
- Ensure that contractual obligations, timelines, and deliverables are clearly outlined.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate contract renewals and changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with vendors and internal teams involved in environmental services.
Budget Planning:
- Assist in the development of budgets related to environmental services.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effectiveness in line with budgetary constraints.
Overall, the Assistant Manager will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally friendly shopping mall environment while meeting defined cleaning outcome indicators. This includes optimizing water efficiency practices and ensuring review and renewal of environmental service contracts. Fostering sustainability, managing vendor relationships and aligning contractual agreements with both regulatory requirement and the shopping mall objectives
Candidate Requirements:
- Diploma in Real Estate/Building/Facilities Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar capacity with working knowledge in shopping mall or commercial building’s maintenance, fire safety and security system, local codes, and regulations.
- Able to interact with various stakeholders from all levels.
- A team player who is proactive, result oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills, able to work independently and perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Passionate about building facilities management.
