Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

Role Overview: The Counter Assistant is responsible for collecting donations and handling inquiries, during the month of Ramadan. They interact with donors, process payments, issue receipts, and ensure accuracy in financial transactions. This role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and good customer service. Overall, the Counter Assistant helps ensure smooth donation operations while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

1. Zakat, Fitrah, and Fidyah Collection

• Collect Zakat, Fitrah, and Fidyah
• Provide assistance with Doa (prayers) as required.
• Issue receipts to respective donors and contributors.
• Count and reconcile donations at the end of each day.
• Ensure proper closing procedures are followed.

2. General Donation Collection

• Collect walk-in donations
• Handle walk-in inquiries related to donations.

3. Customer Service

• Assist donors with inquiries related to Zakat, Fitrah, and Fidyah collections.
• Provide information about the organization's services and programs to donors

4. Record-Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of all donations received, including donor information, amounts, and purposes.
• Update donor databases or spreadsheets with new information.

5. Communication:

• Communicate effectively with donors regarding donation-related matters.
• Notify Staff/Shift In-charge of any special requests or instructions from donors.

6. Security:

• Ensure the safety and security of donation boxes or collection areas.
• Report any suspicious activities or concerns to appropriate authorities or supervisors.

7. Miscellaneous Tasks:

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
• Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the organization.

Requirements:

• Individuals with ARS certification and previous experience in a similar role are preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with computer software for data entry and receipt issuance, preferably Salesforce or similar preferred but not required.
• Basic mathematical skills for counting and reconciling donations.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity in all financial transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors and individuals making inquiries.
• Able to commit during assigned shifts throughout Ramadan.

Job Requirements:

• Worked in Enterprise Risk Management / BCP Experience AND understanding of how major risk relates to business continuity and crisis management which includes definition and implementation of operational and business risk activity
• Understanding of either Operational Risk, Project Risk, Financial Risk, Technology Risk including Governance, Risk and Assurance inter-relationship within an organization
• Exposure in drafting and rolling out policies and procedures
• Experience in governance, control development and strong understanding of risk framework that translate into BCP and CM
• Ability to converse with Stakeholder, coupled with proven track record of managing change initiatives
• Ability to influence and rationalize on key risk and BCP matters
• Strong skills with working with both internal and cross functional stakeholders with a proven ability to effectively and professionally interact at a high level with stakeholders of varying seniority
