What you’ll do
Role purpose:
• Managing all tax-related matters of Vodafone Business within Asia Pacific and Middle East region.
• Developing and implementing tax strategies and governance processes that aligns with the overall business goals and comply with tax regulations.
• Providing best in class Business Partnering in the decision-making process to Head of Finance GTM, Product team, Sales team, Commercial teams, Business Heads and other senior stake holders.
• Act as sounding board to the Head of Finance GTM and Head of Tax for Vodafone Business.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Business Partnering: Working closely with product, sales, commercial, finance, legal, and other departments to provide tax advice and support on structuring, business transactions including multi country deals.
- Tax Risk Management: Identifying and managing tax risks associated with business operations and transactions and implementing strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Tax Planning and Compliance: Ensuring complies and all tax obligations, including preparation and submission of corporate tax returns, indirect tax returns and transfer pricing documentation for all the entities in the region with accuracy and within the statutory deadline.
- Tax Reporting and Forecasting: Preparing and analysing tax provisions, tax forecasting and disclosures for statutory reporting and reporting to headquarters.
- Tax Audits and Disputes: Managing tax audits, inquiries, and disputes with internal auditors, statutory auditors, tax authorities, telecom regulators and representing the company's interests in these matters.
- Tax Research and Legislation Monitoring: Staying updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that could impact the company, and providing guidance on compliance and strategic planning.
Who you are
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Able to foresee tax implications on multi country deals and provide holistic tax advise from direct tax, indirect tax and transfer pricing perspective.
• Able to contribute in a multi-functional and multi-cultural team to deliver required outcome.
• High level of commercial acumen and ability to identify and solve varied business problems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to ensure credibility with senior management.
• Ability to manage first time situations.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• Degree in Taxation / Qualified Accountant-ACA/CIMA/ACCA/MBA/ Or Comparable
• Strong understanding of International Taxation, Corporate Tax, VAT/Sales Taxes and Transfer Pricing.
• Previous experience in Big 4 or group tax team of a multinational company.
