The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) invite applications for the position of Research Associate. The Research Associate will join a new project administered by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) collecting data from the Singapore Strait to better prepare Singapore’s water security (i.e., desalination) in the face of future climate change. This is an international, multi-institutional and trans-disciplinary program involving top researchers from the local and international community that aims to understand past, present and future climate change impacts on our water resources, as well as to source for alternative water sources (e.g., subsurface aquifers).

The work will involve active offshore collection and preparation of water samples for lab analysis, and measuring water parameters (e.g., temperature, pH, current speed) around Singapore on a research vessel. We have just received funding for Phase 2 of the study and are expanding our biobanking team to allow the study to reach out to more people.
