• Work with colleagues and Principal Investigators (PIs) for pre-award and post award management of a full suite of Grants (from A*STAR, NRF, NMRC etc.), from the Grantee’s perspective, which include, but are not limited to: Liaising with funders and collaborating institutions on grant-related matters. Supporting PIs in grant administration and reporting, and ensure compliance with grants terms and conditions. Monitoring project progress and fund utilization. • Assist in preparation of internal control measures including the required audits.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Masters/PhD) , with a focus on high speed circuit modeling, statistical analysis, jitter analysis, digital signal processing, and signal integrity. Key Responsibilities:

Chronic unresolved inflammation is a key pathogenic feature of prevalent inflammatory disorders and related syndromes that together are predicted to affect close to 60 million people with an annual cost of $90B. The Ho lab at Duke-NUS is building a platform to mine the human genome for novel determinants of the inflammatory response. The Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI) at Duke-NUS Medical School aims to develop local infrastructure and deep capabilities in the development of molecular imaging technologies for guiding the advancement and translation of cancer immunotherapies and companion diagnostics. LTMI is looking for a Research Fellow that will complement current interdisciplinary research programmes by bringing expertise in computational biology approaches to improve clinical diagnosis and intervention among the population cohorts in Singapore and contribute to the field of precision medicine in Singapore.

• Put in place SOPs for the management of each type of grant (e.g. NMRC, NRF, A*STAR, foreign grants etc.) from pre-grant call to post grant call
• Liaise with colleagues and A*STAR Finance in project accounts creation and activation for newly awarded grants;
• Provide sec and retariatlogistics support for SRIS meetings and events, including preparation of slides and minute taking, as and when required;
• Maintain records of membership tenure e.g. for Exco member, Steering Committee member, SRIS Researcher/ Affiliate etc, and put up for approval for membership extensions accordingly.
• Other ad-hoc duties, assignments and projects as may be assigned by ED or Director, SRIS and A*SRL.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, or Business Administration, or Life Sciences, or related fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience in grants management
• Experience in budgeting and financial management will be an advantage

2. Administering to the evaluation of grant proposals including issuance of appointment letters to the evaluation panel members, setting up evaluation meetings and ensuring timely renewal of memberships.

Post grant call closure matters such as performing completeness checks, collating all complete applications, organizing proposal review meetings, compiling evaluation scores, preparation of meeting agenda, slides and recording of minutes, grant outcome announcement, preparation of Letters of Award, reporting templates, budget schedules etc.
4. Perform the role of “Officer-in-charge” for the Grant(s);
5. Verify and monitor claims for grant expenses for the Grant.
6. Track the progress of the SRIS Grant to ensure timely submission of fund requests, progress and final reports.
7. Check and process post-award grant variations and/ or budget virements.
8. Track number of grant applications vs projects awarded for each grant call; manage funds disbursed/ utilisation to ensure sufficient budget according to approved budget utilization timeline

Job Description

This job aims to address some significant issues about realizing large-area (up to meter scale), high-precision (single-pixel resolution), and customized (digitally-controlled) structure-color nanoprinting. The main targets are threefold:

1. Thoroughly understand the interactions between light and matters, uncover novel photonic structures to manipulate light, and explore new effects, remarkable phenomena, unique features and high-performance structure-color applications. Research directions include selective optical transmission, specific light enhancement, and cross-scale light modulation.
2. Study the color-generation mechanisms from the point of view of nanophotonics and material science. The research results should efficiently provide a comprehensive and novel perspective for understanding the coloration phenomena and underlying the interactions between light and photonic structures at different scales, and be expected to provide effect guidance for high-resolution, durable, and versatile structure-color nanoprinting, thus advancing the structural color towards widespread use.
3. Explore appropriate schemes to demonstrate the vibrant and high-resolution structure-color images, to investigate the paradigm from initial digital design to the final printing results, and expand the general laws of structural color from theoretical simulation to practical application, etc. At last, one or two scenarios should be experimentally demonstrated.

Considering the above research targets, the candidate should possess in-depth interdisciplinary knowledge of micro- and nano optics, materials science, physical insights, and topological photonics, digital imaging graphics, nanoprocessing technology, etc. Sufficient experience in the design, fabrication, measurement, and characterization of structure-color nanoprinting is preferred.

Qualifications

1. PhD Degree in photonic crystals and structured colors, or relevant area with a strong background in micro/nano optics and structure color.
2. Working experience in the field of micro- and nanofabrication, additive manufacturing, photonic crystals, optical sensing and detection.
3. Mathematics and specific knowledge required in geometric optics, interference theory, photonic bandgap, self-assembly, and topography control.
4. Technical proficiency: 1) theoretical and numerical modeling of photonic crystals with varying morphology and other physical systems with appropriate software; 2) Nanoprocessing experience such as the synthesis of monodisperse colloidal particles, the assembly of well-arranged crystals, photolithography and 3d printing, etc. 3) spectra measurement involving the transmission spectra, electric field, phase distributions and state density in various optical microstructures.
5. Candidate should have representative publication records in reputed International Journals in the field of structure color, self-assembly, and the related applications.
6. Candidate with work experience is highly preferred.
