Responsibilities:
- Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, driving collaboration between commercial and operations teams to ensure alignment on demand forecasts and supply strategies.
- Acts as a business partner at all stages of the planning process. Responsible for all communication related to supply risks, interruptions, and impacts.
- Oversee forecasting, planning and inventory control, including but not limited to management of stock levels, lead times, and safety stock.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete stock while meeting customer demands. Establish effective inventory control processes to enhance efficiency and reduce holding costs.
- Develop and execute freight strategies to optimize routes, reduce costs, and select reliable forwarding partners, improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Analyse and report on actual versus budgeted metrics, including activities and expenses.
- Prepare and communicate Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) reports to manage performance covering areas such as forecast accuracy, inventory targets, and freight expenditures.
- Oversee the team's KPIs, ensuring team motivation and well-being are maintained.
- Undertake any additional projects or tasks as assigned.
Pre-requisites:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Supply Chain & Shipping, with a track record of leading teams.
- Hands-on experience in planning and freight optimization.
- Experience in a trading and distribution environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as NAV, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong skills in MS Office – Word, Excel (V-Lookup, Pivot Table), PowerPoint.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
