RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Social Worker works in the field of social work. He/She is qualified and trained to assist in managing interventions and programmes, performing community development work and uplifting the professional practice in social work. He/She guides multi-disciplinary teams to implement and evaluate casework and group work and also organises strategic community development initiatives, programmes and research. He/She serves as a mentor to social workers and supports their professional development. He/She collaborates with other agencies and ministries in the course of his work.
Conduct group work
- Formulate group work intervention plans
- Evaluate progress and effectiveness of group work interventions across the organisation
- Supervise facilitation of group work interventions
Conduct casework
- Review case notes and documents
- Implement case and care plans and interventions
- Formulate casework intervention plans
- Conduct needs and intake assessments for complex cases by taking into account the integration of a range of information
- Review social reports
- Evaluate progress and effectiveness of casework interventions
- Conduct closure of cases upon achieving sustainable service outcomes for clients, families and communities
Perform community development work
- Implement new community development initiatives
- Evaluate progress and effectiveness of community development initiatives across the organisation
- Develop community development initiatives
- Mobilise community resources
- Lead environmental scans and community need assessments
Perform stakeholder engagement and partnerships
- Build professional relationships with clients, significant others and other professionals
- Participate in social work practice across disciplines
Uplift professional practice in social work
- Assist staff in implementing and improving their self-care plan
- Organise crisis management team with partner organisations and agencies
- Support professional development of staff within the organisation
- Design research on practice and specified issues under guidance
- Review models of care and service delivery aligned to evidence-based practice
- Supervise staff in their work
- Implement standards of care, organisational health policies, procedures and programmes
- Perform audits with adherence to organisation's audit framework
Deliver programmes
- Conduct evaluation of programmes
- Manage implementation of programmes
- Lead development of specific programmes targeted at service gaps and service delivery issues
QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
Relevant Experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Accredited as Registered Social Worker with Singapore Association of Social Workers would be an advantage
