Manager, Government Partnerships
The Government Partnerships Team is tasked with establishing a diverse and inclusive educational ecosystem by forging and managing partnerships with education ministries, boards, governmental bodies, and international organizations.
The Manager of Government Partnerships will develop and manage IB’s Governmental Partnerships with State and National Educational Authorities to support the introduction of IB Programmes in schools governed by their respective authorities, and oversee the integration of IB’s approaches to education at the System level as desired.
This role focuses on initiating projects, partnerships, and strategies to drive organizational expansion and generate new income avenues, particularly through government partnerships and consultancy services in both established and emerging markets.
Responsibilities
1. Government Partnership Management
a. Maintain and develop relationships with state education authorities and any local and international organizations involved in the design and implementation of specialized educational solutions and services to achieve the goals of the IB’s governmental partnerships.
b. Aid in the monitoring and evaluation process, contributing to reports on the effectiveness and impact of initiatives, and supporting the identification of adjustments.
c. Provide support to In-Country Educational Consultants and the IB Educators Network (IBEN) members, ensuring smooth collaboration and delivery of services.
2. Education system level consultancy services
a. Develop proposals for educational solutions in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to respond to needs that emerge as IB’s governmental partnerships
b. Ensure relevant internal IB departments are actively consulted as and when needed in the design and delivery of educational solutions and consultancy services.
c. Actively work to enhance stakeholder engagement and support for scaling our services ensuring sustainable and impactful partnerships.
3. Project management and stakeholder engagement
a. Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, deliverables, delivery methods, milestones, budgets, and monitoring and evaluation strategies, including risk and scope management.
b. Pre-mobilization Coordination: Ensure the timely and within-budget pre-mobilization of projects, including the recruitment and contracting of project staff, in collaboration with the HR department.
c. Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects, from execution to monitoring and review, ensuring alignment with goals and quality standards.
d. Risk Management: Identify, assess and monitor strategic risks and issues related to the projects and inter-projects. Develop and implement strategic risk mitigation and contingency plans.
e. Formulate and navigate complex inter-project dependencies, showcasing an advanced understanding of strategic inter-project dynamics.
4. Customer needs and data analytics
a. Data-Informed Decision Making: Ensure all decisions related to new projects, partnerships, and initiatives are grounded in comprehensive data analysis, utilizing insights from both internal and external sources to guide strategic directions.
5. Team leadership and management
a. Support a team of educational consultants and members of IB Educator Network deployed on the project.
b. Create a culture of high performance, continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Requirements
· Educational and Business Development Background: A Bachelor's degree complemented by proven experience in business development within an educational environment. This includes a track record of developing educational services and projects.
· Professional Skills: Hold professional accreditation or experience in business analysis and/or project management, demonstrating a solid foundation in these critical areas.
· Commercial Savvy: Demonstrated commercial insight with a history of confidently engaging with a range of stakeholders, from middle managers to key decision-makers.
· Strategic and Outcome-Focused Thinking: Strong strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to convert the IB's strategic visions into practical and achievable outcomes.
