One of Asia’s leading non-life insurance groups, this organisation requires an experienced VP to head up Cyber insurance initiatives across Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims. Reporting to the SVP Financial Lines, in a newly-created role, you will drive growth and leverage your skills as a Cyber SME, including product development, distribution, underwriting, claims and outwards reinsurance as well as evaluate underwriting referrals across Asia. This is a key role in achieving profitable growth objectives and enhancing market position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Performance: Take ownership of the Cyber insurance business metrics and results, promoting strategies to ensure sustainable long-term growth and profitability
- Portfolio Management: Underwrite and manage the Cyber portfolio, by ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and adherence to underwriting standards
- Brokerage Relationships: Build and maintain a robust network of brokerage relationships and agency connections to identify and grasp opportunities to expand
- Capability Development: Build a high-performing team by enhance Cyber insurance capabilities including training, coaching, and knowledge transfer
- Product & Business Development: Drive the development of Cyber insurance products and business strategies by providing SME support on claims to align with growth objectives
- Portfolio Analysis: Manage the quarterly premium submissions and develop portfolio analysis tools to monitor and optimize performance
- Systems & Processes: Review and improve systems, processes, and workflows for Cyber functions, ensuring exceptional service quality and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree qualified
- Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in insurance/reinsurance, with at least five years in Cyber insurance product development and underwriting
Skills:
- Deep understanding of financial statements, credit risk, and insurance financial fundamentals
- Proficient in identifying CyberSecurity risk exposures, hazards, and implementing appropriate controls
- Proven track record in business development and a strong acumen to navigate business and market requirements
- Expertise in coaching, delegating, and mentoring junior underwriters to uphold underwriting best practices
