Job Summary

This position serves as Hotel Desk Clerk working independently at the Front Desk in Navy Gateway Inns & Suites which covers a 24 hours, 365 days operation. Incumbent performs various clerical work involved in receiving, registering and assisting guests, assigning rooms, receiving reservations, collecting charges, maintaining related records, etc. using Property Management System (EPITOME) and One-Net PC.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Checks in personnel desiring billeting; receives and checks orders/authorization and ID cards, determines categories of the personnel and the applicable type of billeting service charge to be assessed and explains the entitlement, prepares registration sheets, assigns rooms and issues room keys, base map, and free Wi-Fi information. Checks out personnel: receives and checks room keys, computes and collects service charges (cash payment, VISA/MASTER/AMEX credit card payment and direct billing), and issues official receipts.

• Receives and accepts reservation requests from transient and deployment personnel in accordance with pertinent instructions. Makes room assignments for reservations made by Central Reservation System, Website and DTS. When NGIS room is not available, issues Certification of Non Availability (CNA) control number and books off-base accommodations after necessary arrangement with requesters. Confirms and provides certificate of non-availability letters for record. Reports reservation and availability status for supervisors. Takes inventory of all keys during every shift.

• Receives all incoming telephone calls, messages, or visitors and transmits to residents without delay. Receives and disseminates information on disasters, typhoon reports, etc. to appropriate officials. Coordinates with non English speaking staff in response to customer requests and/or complaints.

• Communicates with the contracted housekeepers to share room status information. Works maintenance issues such as door lock programing, cable TV setting, etc. after normal working hours. Creates trouble call requests for maintenance if issue cannot be resolved.

• Provides convenience services such as money changing, answering varied inquiries, providing local area information, etc. Maintains a clean Front Desk Lobby and Café Lounge. After normal working hours, performs daily Quality Assurance (QA) room inspections.

• Computes and collects service charges from transient residents biweekly and from deployed residents monthly. Prepares official receipts, and forwards them to their POCs when required. Maintains registration sheets and other operating records. Performs monthly inventory of Front Desk amenities and reports to Supply Inventory Clerk.

- Performs other related or incidental duties as assigned.

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Forces Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Singapore Area Coordinator, Singapore. Incumbent serves in an assistant or support capacity and may perform any or all of the following duties within either of the following sections of the Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Forces Support Branch: Fitness Support, Sports Support, or Aquatics Support. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Support (includes but not limited to):

• Provides customer service to patrons using the facility, to include: greeting customers; checking identification cards to ensure only authorized users are entering facility; issuing and receiving gear/equipment; and registering patrons for facility use, events, and/or classes.

• Answers telephone, providing information in regards to facility hours of operation , upcoming special events and programs, etc.

• Completes the Daily Activity Reports, handling cash where fees apply, verifying the amount of money collected and dropping the cashier bag in the drop safe.

• Assists in planning , scheduling, and publicizing various activities and maintaining related supplies in order to attract and motivate participants.

• Oversees the sale of retail items associated with activities.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) fitness activities from the standpoint of participants' responses, resources, and program objectives.

• Monitors patrons, volunteers and contractors at the assigned program /event and reports any issues to management.

• Assists in the selection of fitness, sports, and aquatics activities to be offered, both within the required basic program categories and additional ones possible through available resources and desirable in terms of participant's interests and needs.

Instructional Support (includes but not limited to):

• Monitors assigned participants in indoor and outdoor activities to include intramural sporting events.

• Conducts instructional classes in the assigned recreational area.

• Performs basic fitness orientation; identifies and corrects unsafe fitness techniques.

• Demonstrates procedures common to the activities and instructs in the use of related equipment.

• Establishes/ revie ws the schedule of events, conducts tours, sets-up / prepares gymnasiums/fac ilities / playing fields prior to scheduled start time for events (e.g., lap swim, lifeguard training, exercise programs , races, pool parties, sporting events, etc.).

• Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures.

Facility/Equipment Maintenance (includes but not limited to):

• Ensures facility and sporting fields are open and /or closed at the posted time.

• Monitors and checks the security of premises.

• Monitors activity within the facility, circulating among the patrons to assist with basic use of equipment/gear and to maintain good order and discipline.

• Ensures athletic playing surfaces are properly maintained, safe, and ready for play.

• Assists in properly cleaning and maintaining equipment/ facilities , maintains inventory, performs general janitorial services to ensure interior spaces are in a clean, neat, and orderly state at all times (e.g., sweeping and mopping floors; dusting and cleaning workout areas, mirrors, bathrooms, and locker areas; straightening equipment and accessories, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Job Summary

Regularly performs the full range and scope of maintenance and housekeeping services that include, but not limited to: the upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) guest rooms, public spaces, etc. Assignments include simple painting, plumbing, carpentry,

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs work in at least two of the following trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures. Maintains work order log and follows up as required. Reports status to supervisor. Logs trouble calls with contractor, as appropriate.
• Plumbing: Makes basic plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, shut-off valves on washing machines and water supply which can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units, installing water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets and sinks.
• Washer/Dryer repair: Performs routine maintenance on washers and dryers to include cleaning lint ducts and vents, replacing hoses and fittings as required, and referring more complex problems to supervisor for action.
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC): Recognizes the cause of faulty equipment and assists making repairs on a variety of HVAC units as appropriate.
• Electrical: Recognizes and reports electrical problems making repairs as appropriate. Replaces fluorescent and incandescent ballasts, bulbs and tubes.
• Carpentry: Measures, cuts and constructs or repairs wood or wood substitute items. Conducts basic carpentry repairs such as repairing or replacing screens; window and door frames; molding and trim; and repair and replacement of drywall or similar products.
• Painting: Preparation of areas and standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling and spraying and ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected and free from drips and runs.
• Responsible for a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks involving standard methods related to the operation and maintenance of facilities.
• Work assignments (completed and in-progress) are spot-checked on a daily basis via documented inspection reports to assure that work practices, techniques, records, and other functions are technically accurate and in compliance with instructions. Recurring assignments (e.g. follow-up on maintenance requests reported by guests, housekeeping, or front desk) are carried out independently without specific instructions.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safe work practices is required.
• Complete all required safety/security training.
• Required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds (100 pounds assisted) is required. Must be able to climb/descend stairs and ladders, stoop, bend, kneel and work in uncomfortable positions.
• Work involves normal risks or discomforts associated with property operations, facility management, and/or mechanical systems. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with potential exposure to extreme weather or temperature conditions. Occasional exposure to dusty or dirty conditions exists when visiting rooms or facilities undergoing repair, maintenance, or renovation. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
• Incumbent is expected to perform daily work on own initiative and carry out assignments in accordance with DOD and Navy regulations. Situations involving unfamiliar problems not covered by instructions are referred to the supervisor for resolution.
• Typically employee uses routine instructions and work methods that are common to the trade and may be general in nature. Where available the incumbent will rely on blueprints, manufacturer's instructions, manuals, and maintenance specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Custodial Duties Comprise 40% of Duties and include but not limited to:

• Maintains cleanliness and tidiness of club interior and exterior and other areas as directed. Custodial duties include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, wiping, dusting and emptying trash.
• Maintains maintenance shop in a safe and clean condition.
• Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and supplies, and notifies supervisor when more are needed.
• Observes environmental safety, security and housekeeping rules and regulations.

Maintenance Duties comprise 35% of Duties and include but not limited to:

• Maintains grounds within club premise. Performs light landscaping work of club grounds to include trimming of branches, clearing of fallen leaves, regular power washing, etc.
• Maintains general equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition.
• Assists in the performance of one or more trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, painting, light alterations and other related trades. Light carpentry duties include but not limited to door and cabinet refurbishment or repair.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is located at Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) operation at Singapore Area Coordinator (SAC) under the Navy Exchange Command (NEXCOM). The purpose of this position is to manage daily operations of the front desk, reservations, and group reservation office for the lodging program.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess a Diploma in Hospitality or related field.
• Requires three years of related work experience that demonstrates knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations and administration related to hospitality operations.

• Professional, policies/procedures, and supervisory practices in conducting day-to-day operations.

Introduction

• Establishes/ revie ws the schedule of events, conducts tours, sets-up / prepares gymnasiums/fac ilities / playing fields prior to scheduled start time for events (e.g., lap swim, lifeguard training, exercise programs , races, pool parties, sporting events, etc.).

• Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures.

Facility/Equipment Maintenance (includes but not limited to):

• Ensures facility and sporting fields are open and /or closed at the posted time.

• Monitors and checks the security of premises.

• Monitors activity within the facility, circulating among the patrons to assist with basic use of equipment/gear and to maintain good order and discipline.

• Ensures athletic playing surfaces are properly maintained, safe, and ready for play.

• Assists in properly cleaning and maintaining equipment/ facilities , maintains inventory, performs general janitorial services to ensure interior spaces are in a clean, neat, and orderly state at all times (e.g., sweeping and mopping floors; dusting and cleaning workout areas, mirrors, bathrooms, and locker areas; straightening equipment and accessories, etc.).

• Makes minor repairs to facilities and equipment when appropriate and assists with outdoor maintenance.

• Reports maintenance problems, material deficiencies, and unsafe conditions or discrepancies that cannot be repaired in-house to the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Local Agency Check (LAC).

• Occasional travel of less than 10% may be required.

• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain the following certification within 30 days of hire: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid Certification

• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain the following certifications within 90 days of hire:

Automated External Defibrillator Certification, Blood-borne Pathogen Certification, Navy Basic Fitness Certification

JOB SUMMARY

This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fleet Readiness Branch; Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). Incumbent performs a variety of duties in support of the Recreation Program that may include Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) special events, MWR information/resources, command events, visiting ships or fleet support, community events, trips, tours, outings, party and picnic rental equipment, resale tickets, Library, Liberty, leisure skill classes and outdoor recreation or other similar MWR recreational services including grab-n-go, bowling and movies, fitness and sports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs assigned duties and provides necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of recreation and fitness programs.

• Provides information concerning facilities and operation.

• Ensures adherence to regulations, safety and security procedures.

• Assists in maintaining routine reports and/or performs clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties.

• Performs numerous functions in support of recreation and fitness program delivery to include inventory control, equipment inspection, restocking, point of sale system operation and cash handling.

• Operates a cash register, Point of Sale (POS) system, processes product or service transactions including equipment loan, rentals, resale, and program registration; receives payments and makes change.

• Greets patrons in person, answers the telephone, takes messages, handles customer requests, makes referrals to the appropriate staff member.

• Adheres to NAVMED P-5010 sanitation requirements.

• Provides support for recreation event set up and break down.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Knowledge of the MWR department in order to answer customer questions and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity.

• Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point of sale systems as well as desktop computers.

• Ability to perform basic computer operations.

• Ability to read and comprehend in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides.

• Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.). Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

• Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues.

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

• General experience of 0 – 3 months and/or high/secondary school graduate or equivalent.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
