Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Enforces the golf rules stipulated under the Club Rules Handbook such as order to play, control hours, time sheet bookings, when and who are eligible to play on the course, handicap certifications, maintenance of handicaps.
2. Assists the Head of Department to manage and executing all the golf activities and private tournaments.
3. Supervises the Golf department to ensure smooth departmental operations.
4. Briefs, motivates and communicates with golfing staff regularly to forge closer working relationships with staff, to identify and solve work challenges.
5. Plans duty roster for junior staff.
6. Attend monthly sub-committee meeting and any other ad-hoc golf-related meetings.
7. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Job Requirements:
· Minimum “O” level with five years of related working experience preferably with a Golf Rules certificate issued by the Golf Associations, ie, Royal & Ancient of St. Andrews or USGA.
· Knowledge of golf rules, handicapping and golf operations.
· Knowledge of golf course maintenance is helpful to identify possible problems on the golf course.
· Planning and organizing skills to execute golf competitions and events.
· Knowledge of golf computer scoring.
· Knowledge of different competition formats.
· Ability to lead and supervise golf staff.
· Good communication skills and ability to relate to members’ requests and expectations.
· Customer oriented and cheerful personality.
