Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Account Assistant to join our accounting team. The Account Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including data entry, invoice processing, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Assist with processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Verify and reconcile statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Follow up with vendors or clients for outstanding invoices or payments.
- Data Entry & Recordkeeping:
- Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and other related documents.
- Help with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues as necessary.
- Assist in Month-End Close:
- Support the accounting team in the preparation of month-end closing procedures.
- Assist in preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- General Administrative Support:
- Answer inquiries related to accounts and assist with internal and external audit preparation.
- Provide support in preparing tax filings and other compliance documents.
- Maintain organized files and documentation, ensuring easy retrieval.
Required Qualifications:
- Min Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role is a plus, but not required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
