Established educational centre operating for more than 30 years is looking to recruit part-time English Teacher to support Japanese students in learning the English language.

This position requires you to deliver lessons catered to Intermediate to Advance learners who are taking TOEFL, IELTS or Eiken. You should be able to explain grammatical rules clearly with adequate examples.

If you have prior experience in teaching the English Language to International students, we would like to hear from you.

Plan, Teach, Evaluate and Manage Class
Preparation for lessons:
- establish clear objectives for all lessons and units, deliver lessons according to objectives
- lesson planning according to teaching curriculum
- develop and create interactive course materials to address Read, Listen, Write, Speak

Conduct lessons & manage class:
- delivery of lessons according to curriculum
- explain, communicate basic principles of grammar
- through creative and engaging activities, create opportunities to practise the language in Read, Listen, Speak and Write
- establish routines and enforce age-appropriate class management procedures
- grade and provide feedback to students on their work

Evaluate:
- provide timely review of students’ performance

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Minimum Diploma and above with good credit in English Language

2. At least 3 years in teaching Academic English as a second language to international students (ESL).

3. Good in written and spoken English

4. Experience in TOEFL or IELTS examinations is advantageous

5. Patience and dedication to work with international students

6. Good sense of initiative, responsibility and punctuality.

Work hours available:
Thursday: 1900hr-2100hr
Saturday: 1500hr-1910hr

Remuneration: $50-$60/hr (depending on qualification & experience) ($1250-$2000)

Location, 5-8 minutes walk from Somerset MRT.

Position Overview:
As an AEIS English and Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for preparing students for the AEIS exams, focusing on improving their proficiency in English and Mathematics. You will provide high-quality instruction, design lesson plans, and offer tailored support to meet the diverse needs of international students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and deliver engaging lessons in English and Mathematics to prepare students for the AEIS exams.
• Create and adapt instructional materials that align with the AEIS syllabus and address students' individual learning needs.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students build their language and mathematical skills.
• Foster a supportive and positive learning environment that encourages active participation and growth.
• Track student performance and prepare progress reports for parents and academic supervisors.
• Keep up-to-date with AEIS exam trends and requirements to ensure students are fully prepared.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the AEIS program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching English and/or Mathematics, preferably at the primary or secondary level.
• Familiarity with the AEIS syllabus and Singapore’s education system is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage lesson planning and student assessments effectively.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for teaching international students.
• TESOL/TEFL certification (for English) or relevant teaching qualifications in Mathematics is preferred.
• Duration of contract on 6 months basis
