About the role
We are seeking a Communications Intern to join the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC) in the West Region on a 6-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in the communications field.

What you'll be doing

• Assist in the development and editing of communication materials including posters, brochures, social media graphics and EDMs
• Help manage and coordinate communication projects and events including logistics, preparation of materials and on-site assistance
• Conduct research on industry trends, competitors and target audience to generate valuable insights that inform communication strategies
• Track, analyse and prepare reports on the communication campaign performance using tools i.e. Google Analytics, social media analytics and email metrics
• Coordinate meetings with external stakeholders including vendors and partners
• Collaborate closely with teams from various departments and students to gather insights, consolidate inputs and create content that supports communication goals

What we're looking for

• Current Polytechnic or University student in marketing or communications discipline

What you will be working on?

The officer will be exposed to a variety of learning opportunities and undertake some, if not all (depending on his/her capabilities) of the portfolio below:

Desktop research/ simple email submissions

• Assist with the development of different tracks of the IP agenda (e.g. helping to do desktop research, arrange foreign visits/meetings), review and put up submissions (e.g on various CA programmes for greater international cooperation).
• Draft simple emails and submissions.
• Draft and dress up powerpoint slides.

Event management

• Assist in running (virtual) events and conferences, including the logistics and administration of the activities, liaising with vendors, internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in marketing of IP (or Research’s) events.
• Development and management of SOPs/databases for IP (and Research) and involve in data analytic projects.
• Exposed to project management skills (e.g. developing timelines and monitoring), liaising and coordinating among stakeholders, tabulating the respective inputs/ views.
• Secretariat duties including management of meetings and taking notes and post-meeting follow ups.
• Knowledge and interest in technological applications will be advantageous.
• Any other duties as may be agreed and assigned.
