We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a SVP, Performance Management - WPB Business Management.
Principal Responsibilities
The jobholder is primarily responsible for providing analysis and insights on ongoing business performance and supporting the development, planning and execution of initiatives and activities to achieve our business priorities. The jobholder provides a critical support function to the WPB leadership team, such as thought leadership, providing the necessary MI/data to facilitate effective decision making and undertaking analysis of business metrics performance. The scope will include putting together SGH Market review materials for One WPB (GPB, Retail, AMG and HSBC Life), hence, requiring cross business experience.
In addition, the role holder will support Head of Business Management in formulation and tracking of FRP and strategic objectives. He/she will also support in conducting regular business reviews with key stakeholders for tracking strategic objectives, resolution of roadblocks, develop business cases, financial analysis, and executive presentations to support strategic objectives and lead in conducting strategic offsites for senior management, Board Strategy Planning and Management visits. The jobholder will also be involved in organizing key WPB events (e.g., both virtual and physical townhalls) and internal communications as well as non-BAU activities/special projects.
Impact on the Business / Function
- Drive achievement of strategic and business goals through robust analysis of sales and business performance, using internal and external information sources
- Actively participate in and support ad hoc projects, including strategic reviews, planning, management information (MI), accountability and governance
- Preparation of committee/forum papers and presentations
- Support financial operations and cost management activities
Customers / Stakeholders
- Support senior management in developing and refining WPB strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve targets and long-term objectives
- Partner with Distribution/Channels to continuously improve incentive framework aligned to business priorities
- Investigate and seek remedies for discrete issues which may be adversely affecting business unit performance
Leadership & Teamwork
- Work closely with other members of the business management team to identify focus areas to drive sales performance, cost containment and risk mitigation
- Support internal staff communications and engagement activities
- Lend knowledge and expertise as may be required from time to time
- Act as a change agent and take the lead in key projects, as may be assigned from time to time
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Support oversight of commercialization activities and benefits tracking across WPB
- Carry out Account Reconciliation responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to external regulations and internal guidelines
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in financial services industry, with at least 5 years in business managements area is preferred
- Extensive experience in preparing business cases and financial projections
- Experiences individual in managing projects and executing business plans
- Possesses well developed communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to maintain solid working relationships with senior management and other stakeholders
