What you can expect

The Guarantees & Import Letters of Credit desk forms part of the Singapore Trade operations team and it reports to a team lead who also oversees the Registration and Distribution (R&D) team. The Guarantees & Import Letters of Credit desk handles the vetting and review of all Bankers Guarantees (BGs), Letters of Credits and Standby Letters of Credits (SBLCs) to be issued out of the Bank of America Singapore Branch. The Guarantees & Import Letters of Credit desk liaises with various parties such Clients and Internal parties (Bankers, Sales, Legal, other branches as well as the Global Business Services (GBS) Team in India). The incumbent in the Guarantees desk is also expected to be able to explain and advise clauses and the acceptability/unacceptability of clauses to any party regarding the LCs, BGs or SBLCs.

What you will do

Banker’s Guarantees, SBLC Issuance / Amendments / Renewal (Primary Duties):

• Reviewing of guarantee and SBLC format in accordance to the guideline laid down by legal and product team.
• Escalate and obtain approval from Trade Control and Credit Department when necessary.
• Scanning of required documents for GBS’ processing.
• Attending to GBS and customers queries/clarifications via emails in a timely manner.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately processed (by GBS) / verified in accordance with customer’s instructions and according to the bank’s operational procedure and policies.
• Print out completed BG, obtain Officer’s signature as per delegation of authority (For Mail Guarantee / Amendment).
• Daily check in the Trade E-Banking platform system with which clients may submit the guarantee/SBLC applications online.

• Updating of guarantee daily tracker and follow up with clients for status.

• Ensure amortization of issuance commission is done by GBS by 15th of every month.

Acceptance of Usance bills:

• Affix the acceptance stamp on the draft drawn by the beneficiary and calculate and determine the maturity date of the bills.

• Reflect the loan number in bank schedule.
• File usance drafts - according to maturity dates.

Processing of Usance Bills at maturity:

• Receive processing team’s email notification of due date maturities and ensure that the GBS team processes the payments on due date.

Registration and Distribution (R&D) (Coverage duties)

• Attend to clients at the Trade Counter.
• Receipt of transactions documents via Mailroom, Fax Machine and Counter and record in trackers.

In this role, you are expected to collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, 3rd party service providers and suppliers across multiple categories and regions, in an indirect procurement leadership role. You will engage in and lead the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.

You will be exposed to a mega scaled EPC projects of Micron’s global expansion and will plan and implement global category strategies.

This position is based in Singapore.

Build and Execute Indirect Categories

• Work with direct and cross-functional teams to plan strategic sourcing direction for category.
• Recommend targets for spend reduction, sourcing efficiency, supplier management and supply base optimization.
• Define and deliver category cost savings and scorecard metric targets, monitor and report out progress to targets
• Recommend resource levels across Indirect Procurement sourcing categories, projects and functions
• Monitor and adjust category compliance (e.g. risk, spend, quality, supplier segmentation, management)
• Monitor the implementation of category and sourcing strategies and contract compliance and participate in the resolution of any constraints or issues
• Communicate sourcing trends and results for Indirect categories to the Category Director.
• Maintain supplier segmentation map for category, and build partnerships with strategic suppliers

Lead and Manage Indirect Procurement Team

• Support building a skilled, strategic sourcing Procurement team (recruitment, training, staffing, and retention)
• Build consensus on assigned category strategic plan and refine (if required)
• Drive team engagement, inspiring and motivating the team to do their best and achieve aggressive goals
• Provide leadership on Global Procurement initiatives, providing clarity and line of sight for the Indirect Category team
• Assist Category Director in building integrated strategic plan, including to drive innovation and transformative initiatives.
• Represent Micron in industry and professional forums

Interface with Stakeholders, Partners, and Suppliers on Category Strategies

• Initiate and sustain effective communication with stakeholders, partners and suppliers (top down)
• Share updates back to the Category Director and/or Indirect Leadership Teams (bottom up)
• Escalate issues, offering options and recommendation for resolution
• Communicate strategic sourcing goals, category management plans, initiatives and targets
• Maintain relationships with supplier senior executives

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

• Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with Category Director, Category Supplier Managers, and Regional Indirect Leaders/Team Members
• Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction for key suppliers
• Drive proactive approach with Stakeholders when solving issues and representing Procurement
• Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the category

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• PMP certification or equivalent, preferred
• CPSM certification or equivalent, preferred
• Semiconductor related Engineering background, preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Manage multiple large-scale projects concurrently, ability to work with minimal supervision, strong project management skills.
• Strong technical background and understanding in Semiconductor FAB operations with knowledge of EPC construction and module fabrication for Semiconductor manufacturing FAB.
