Key Responsibilities:

• Business Transactions: Handle quotes, purchase orders (POs), procurement, logistics, and payment processing.
• Commercial Management: Oversee commercial activities to ensure smooth supply of spares and services. Develop and negotiate project conditions with clients and stakeholders.
• Internal Coordination: Lead discussions with project, legal, procurement, and accounts teams.
• Stakeholder Relations: Work with banks, insurance, logistics companies, and tax consultants. Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Documentation: Prepare and review quotations, POs, and contracts. Liaise with HQ and other group companies for pricing and sales strategies.
• Management Meetings: Organize approval meetings.
• Business Promotion: Develop promotional programs and materials. Organize sales calls and client visits. Discuss new business activities and obtain approvals.
• Post-Sales Management: Handle billing, invoicing, contract negotiations, and commercial proposals. Maintain business licenses and permits. Lead strategic business meetings.
• Efficiency Improvement: Set up procedures and workflows to enhance efficiency. Maintain data on costs, vendors, quotes, POs, and yearly plans.
• Administrative Support: Provide support for software, tools, and export control procedures. Prepare monthly reports for Japan HQ and management.
• Communication: Assist with Japanese communication for daily activities. Provide training on commercial aspects like taxation, insurance, and trade regulations.

Requirement

• Minimum 5 years’ sales experience in an international/local manufacturer, engineering or trading company
• Experience in commercial side of the business.
• Must have proficiency in Japanese speaking and writing to liaise with Japan HQ.
• General understanding for overseas construction project (permanent establishment, taxation, contract terms & conditions, etc.)
• General understanding on business negotiation and EPC costing.
• Fair knowledge on chemical plants and its construction.
• Open to International Travel

THE ROLE

Netflix seeks a seasoned and intellectually-curious music business affairs executive to join our team based in Singapore. This role will provide music business affairs support for our Content, Marketing, and PR teams covering Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and Chinese-language projects. This position will be based in our Singapore office, with periodic international travel.

A substantial part of the role will be overseeing, managing, and scaling the music clearance workflow for film and series content and for marketing and PR campaigns, from project conceptualization to launch. The role includes clearing music tracks with multiple rights holders, from quote, through negotiation, to signature–and, if clearance is not feasible, suggesting alternative tracks. In addition, the role will advise on a wide range of music matters, including CMO requirements, while keeping in mind the strategic goals of the company.

REQUIREMENTS

This person must have music supervision or music clearance experience. They must have in-depth knowledge of music copyright, and experience structuring, negotiating, and drafting master use and synchronization license agreements; library license agreements; composer, songwriter, and performer agreements; music director and music producer agreements; record label and music publishing waivers; and soundtrack album agreements. They must have strong contacts in the Southeast Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and/or Chinese-language music industry, including with record labels, publishers, libraries, production agencies, artists, songwriters, and managers.

Experience in the film or series industry and knowledge of the film/series production and distribution process (e.g., development to post, cue sheets, and marketing) is highly preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Advise production companies on music clearance, or clear music directly as necessary for content/marketing/PR usage
• Flag potential music clearance concerns during project development phase
• Research music ownership and obtain quotes from record labels and publishers
• Negotiate music license contracts, including music library deals and blanket deals
• Onboard and manage external music supervisors, external music legal counsel, and other external music clearance personnel
• Execute custom music projects with artists and producers
• Manage and review music legal delivery and rights management workflows, including tracking of music license terms and restrictions and music cue sheets
• Advise on and monitor music budgets, and provide estimates when needed, for film, series, and marketing/PR projects
• Advise internal and external stakeholders on music rights and restrictions
• Build and maintain strong relationships in the music industry
• Conduct territory-specific music industry research
• Align with music business affairs counterparts across the globe to maintain a cohesive global music strategy

Jobs Scope:

• Program Management: Understand the program in-depth, connect various business units, and identify new business opportunities.
• Customer Engagement: Conduct regular customer meetings, including weekly scorecard and quality discussions, monthly safety sessions, continuous improvement (CIP) sessions, project updates, KPI reviews, and strategic business reviews.
• Project Leadership: Lead or participate in CIP and ad hoc projects focusing on safety improvements, automation, process optimization, quality enhancements, productivity gains, data analytics, data visualization, storage models, freight consolidation, cross-border trucking, and network planning.
• Project Planning: Oversee the planning and execution of projects with timelines ranging from 6 months to 10 years.
• Representation: Act as the main representative in customer engagements and project-related meetings.
• Team Leadership: Lead staff training and career development initiatives.
• Multi-Project Management: Manage multiple CIP and ad hoc projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion.

Requirement:

• Degree in related field
• Relevant experience in contract logistics especially semiconductor accounts; internal candidates with relavant semiconductor warehousing experience is welcomed
• Possess valid PMP certification is an added advantage
