Incumbent reports to the Chief Operating Officer in the day-to-day product development research and testing activities including document its processes documentation.
He / She will lead the team in the entire life cycle of new and existing consumer electronic products from designing, planning, testing, develop applications, modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance as well as supervising production process in ensuring its performance and quality.
Incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordination of the entire research and development process from managing staffing, coaching, and training, scheduling R&D prototypes runs, ensure adequate materials are available, and ensuring electrical components are in good working condition in supporting of demand/delivery schedules.
Part B: Responsibilities and Duties
· Lead and coach a team of Engineers in oversee the R&D laboratory and inventory management controls
· Spearhead new innovations, research & development in technology advancement and excellence.
· Evaluates and enhance electrical systems, products, components, and applications
· Designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials
· Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
· Develops electrical products by studying requirements; research, testing and assembly methods.
· Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods, testing finished products, products capabilities, and customers users experience
· Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, summarizing information and trends
· Provides engineering information and solutions for devices.
· Establish workshop/laboratory process, workflow, processes, and materials inventory controls
· Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
· Keeps equipment operational by establishing manufacturer's instructions
· Established procedures; to end user for requesting repair services
· Develop improvements to system level risk analysis to ensure system risks are identified and mitigated at the earliest opportunity
· Assume responsibility to identify and implement preventive measures to improve product effectiveness
· Ensure relevant priorities, schedules, goals for the business unit, ensure functional expectations are met
· Lead new product development lifecycle per design control procedures.
· Assume prime responsibility for product transfer tasks and projects and lead continuous improvement and sustaining projects.
· Completes projects by providing training and guidance to technicians as well as provide technical guidance and training supports to cross-functional teams
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Able to adopt a philosophy of continual improvement and constantly identify / propose higher efficiency and enhance quality of the finished product.
· Ability to troubleshoot any problems that occur in the production process.
· Any other ad hoc responsibility tasked by reporting superior / assigned Senior Management
Part C: Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, Etc)
· Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
· At least 8 years of experience at similar capacity in leading an engineering team
· Proven knowledge and experience in project management and technology development
· Strong leadership with ability to drive, execute, and problem-solving abilities to meet engineering, operational and business goals.
· Strong experience with electrical and electronic components and devices
· Multi-national corporations work exposure with strong ability to work with regional and headquarter team for results
