About the role

• Technology Research: Work closely with the automation team to scout and explore technology trends in robotics and automation.
• Feasibility Studies: Conduct preliminary feasibility studies on identified technologies based on the return on investment (ROI) model.
• Technological Solutioning: Collaborate with operations teams and logistics analysts to develop conceptual and detailed designs for automation systems, including hardware, software and control strategies.
• Prototyping: Creating rapid prototypes to validate and actualise automation efforts through practical construction, integrating software development, microcontroller programming and 3D printing techniques.
• Testing and Deployment:Lead and assist in technical aspects of automation implementation, testing, commissioning and deployment to ensure successful delivery.
• Maintenance Support: Provide troubleshooting, investigation, and implementation of improvement solutions for existing robotic automation equipment and systems related to quality and safety issues.
• Additional Support: Assist the Automation team with any additional ad-hoc task assignments, including, but not limited to, data collection and analysis.

The successful intern:

Essential:

• Undergraduate and graduate pursuing a degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or other engineering related fields
• Familiar with Collaborative Robots, AGVs, AMRS and robotic components
• Knowledge in control systems, sensors, actuators and electrical design
• Proficient in CAD tools like Fusion360, SolidWorks, Onshape or equivalent

Desirable:

• Robot programming skills on UniversalRobots, ABB, Fanuc, or equivalent brands

Responsibilities

• To perform instrument connections to Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• To develop software parsing coding for instrument interface
• To perform challenge tests for LIMS process flow
• To revise SOP and prepare validation protocols for testing of lab equipment
• To assist in the master data building for QC lab to implement in LIMS

1.    To perform Data Analysis and Reporting

• Analyse and generate reports of Asia Pacific data on Customer Backlog (CBL) 
• Work with Sales Logistics Customer Interface Team to ensure data quality and track the progress of CBL   
• Perform data validation, identify the root cause and resolves issues to improve the order fulfilment rate and overall impact on customer service level 
• Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and aggregate data from large databases efficiently. 
• Utilize Common Table Expressions (CTEs) to create temporary result sets and simplify query readability. 
• Leverage Window functions to perform advanced analytical operations, such as ranking, partitioning, and aggregations, within SQL queries.
• Optimize SQL queries for performance by using appropriate indexing strategies and query execution plans.
• Employ various JOIN operations (INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, FULL OUTER JOIN) to merge data from multiple database tables efficiently.
• Create subqueries and correlated subqueries when necessary to retrieve specific subsets of data.
• Implement conditional logic and CASE statements within SQL queries to handle complex data transformations.
• Continuously optimize SQL queries for performance, scalability, and maintainability. 
• Monitor and tune database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval.

2.    To build and enhance dashboards to support Process Automation

• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards with existing databases (SQL database, etc.) on different Order To Cash (O2C) topics.
• Maintain and improve current Power BI dashboards, including enhancing SQL scripts in databases and DAX measures in Power BI.
• Provide technical support to resolve data-related issues and troubleshoot problems in dashboards, and reports.
• Develop Python scripts to streamline and automate manual data transformation processes. 
• Identify repetitive data preparation tasks and create reusable Python scripts to perform data cleansing, formatting, and aggregation. 
• Continuously optimize and enhance Python scripts for performance, scalability, and efficiency.

3.    Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate and align with central departments/stakeholders to support in achieving sales target
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of data analysis and reporting solutions. 
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Project Title: Singapore’s Inaugural Supply Chain & Connectivity Week 2024

[What you will be working on]

The intern will play a critical role in the organisation of Singapore’s inaugural Supply Chain and Connectivity (SCC) Week in October 2024, and to support in the smooth delivery of the following key outcomes: 

• Curation of the overall event programme that addresses the latest trends and developments in the supply chain and connectivity domain

• Develop the overall event marketing messages that reflects Singapore’s ambitions to be a globally leading supply chain and connectivity hub 

• Overall project management and to ensure overall smooth planning and execution for the event 

Learning outcomes and other experiences:

• Understand latest trends and developments that will pose threats and opportunities to the supply chain and connectivity domain 

• Understand Singapore’s strategic plans to strengthen our position as a globally leading supply chain and connectivity hub
