Job Description
KKH is an 830-bed tertiary-level care hospital that provides obstetric, gynaecological, paediatric and other services. It is part of the SingHealth group of public hospitals. As an academic medical centre, KKH is a teaching hospital for Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Clinical- Service
1. To provide direct patient care.
2. To participate and/or organize team/modular patient care.
3. To supervise junior staff in clinical care.
4. To teach undergraduates and postgraduate trainees.
5. To provide CME programmes for general practitioners, specialists and sub-specialists.
Accountability- each staff will:
1. Be accountable to his/her clinical head.
2. Conform to the appropriate standard of medical and clinical service quality within the Unit/Service.
3. Facilitate and assist the Head of Department, Division Chairman and CMB with the Unit/Service’s perspective in the following:Making recommendations and giving appropriate input with respect to policy and management issues relating to the practice and development of medicine and medical services.
Medical Teaching, Training, Continuing Medical Education and Research activities.
4. To undertake the routine functions of the Unit/Service.
Administrative
To facilitate and assist the Head of Service, Head of Department, Division Chairman and CMB with the Unit/Service’s perspectives in the following:
Clinical Service Development
1. To carry out the development and execution of the work plans.
2. To optimise the utilisation of allocated resources.
3. To assist in the planning of the annual operating budgets within the resources provided.
Manpower Planning and Performance Management
1. To be committed to his/her duties, work as a team with colleagues and perform to the best of his/her abilities.
2. To fulfil the roles of the Unit/Services.
3. To provide his/her supervisor continual factual and qualitative information for the purpose of performance management.
4. To play an active role as a member/chairperson in the hospital/national level committee.
Requirements
- M.B.B.S. or equivalent basic medical degree
- Recognised relevant post-graduate qualification by Singapore Medical Council
- Exited specialist training
- A specialist in appropriate specialty
