• Manage complex projects with diverse scope by research & investigation, assessment & interpretation of policy / procedures/standards/regulations.
• Perform product safety evaluations based on country-specific requirements. Review & understand schematics, specifications to support and actively participate in design reviews.

Pre-requisites:

• Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Bachelor’s degree with min. 5 years or Diploma in with min. 8 years of experience in regulatory compliance under consumer electronics (A/V, ITE/ICT products) with product development environment.
• Ability to recognize opportunities to improve regulatory compliance and propose practical solutions with respect to product safety/EMC/RF and processes.

• Ability to translate safety standards clauses to technical design requirements, good understanding of electrical product safety and test methodology.

• Good knowledge of wireless technologies such as 2.4GHz SRDs, Bluetooth, WiFi 2.4 GHz/5 GHz, NFC, Qi technology applicable to consumer products.

Description of the Roles:

As a key member of the mechanical engineering team, you will work on cross-functional team projects to develop and deliver new and innovative technical solutions for medical products. MEI is looking for outstanding researchers for the position of Senior Research Fellow.

As a Singapore-based research institute, MEI is well-positioned between the Middle East and East Asia. We are therefore on the look-out for researchers who not only have an in-depth knowledge of the Middle East but also understand Northeast or Southeast Asia.

In particular, we seek researchers with expertise in the following areas of relevance to the Institute’s Research Clusters:

The Institute’s Senior Research Fellows work under the supervision of the Director and the Senior Associate Director. You may therefore be asked to:

4. Contribute to academic research via peer-renewed journals, books, and chapters where requested.
