The position is responsible for achieving and maintaining the highest standards of food preparation quality and guest satisfaction. Main responsibilities include, but not limited to quality and cost control whilst upholding high levels of hygiene and sanitation.  

Primary Responsibilities

Food Quality

• To be responsible for monitoring food quality and consistency to ensure that the food presented to our guest is of the highest quality standards.
• Supervises and monitors kitchen operations, working with yield testing, product identification and that the proper rotation and labelling is followed according to guidelines and product specifications.
• Works closely with receiving and storeroom; ensures that goods received are of the standard quality and meets hotel’s specifications.
• Constantly assesses freshness, presentation and temperature of food served.

Cost Control

• Ensures food portioning, serving, requisitions and receiving from stores are properly controlled in line with Standard Operating Procedures in order to minimise wastage.

Hygiene And Sanitation

• To be responsible for personal hygiene and grooming in accordance to Raffles Hotel Singapore standards, National Environmental Agency standards and HACCP guidelines.
• Enforces the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in kitchens. This includes working areas including, but not restricted to; refrigerators, freezers, ceiling, walls, floors, shelving working tables and working utensils such as carving boards, slicer, mixers, blenders, cutters, woks, pots, pans, etc. 
• Ensures that all equipment is hygienically stored in its designated area.
• Ensures that all perishable items are stored quickly and efficiently, items are utilised completely to avoid wastage and ensures ingredients are always fresh and within its expiry date.
• Prevents using spoiled or contaminated products in any phase of food preparation. Colleagues who are ill or suffering from an infection should be not involved in the preparation or handling of food.

• Ensures smooth and effective communication amongst the kitchens and with other departments.
• Ensures that all deadlines set by supervisors are met.
• Participates in training activities to improve knowledge and skills.
• Follows guidelines provided in employee handbook.

• Negotiate, manage, coordinate, and support Logistics sourcing activities for all modes of Freight (Air, Ocean, Trucking & Parcel) including warehousing and brokerage preparing RFx, managing the process and analyzing competitive bids using eSourcing tool.
• Analyze spend data, internal requirements, and external supply markets to develop strategic sourcing strategies and plans aligned with the business goals.
• Prepare, redline and negotiate commercial contracts - services agreements, licenses, statements of work and amendments in conjunciton with legal team
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal clients to strategically manage spend and the supply base for assigned categories.
• Develop strong partnerships with Logistics operations, accounts payable, and legal teams.
• Manage, co-ordinate and support special/critical projects such as ad hoc and spot rate approval process and others as needed.
• The commodity manager will need to provide excellent strategic sourcing support to the reporting manager and business partners to ensure a competitive advantage for Western Digital.
• Will drive improvements in key metrics such as cost, quality and transit time.
• The CM will drive process-improvements, assist with projects and provide feedback to management on market conditions, supplier relationships, and quality and customer service issues.
• Ensure timely and cost effective acquisition of products, services and equipment while driving contract compliance.
• Completing day-to-day activities that include specification clarification, source/supplier identification, proposal analysis, review & clarification, contract knowledge, supplier performance management, supplier/customer conflict resolution.
• Provide feedback to management on market conditions, vendor relationships, supply and equipment standardization, quality issues.
• Assist with projects and perform other related duties that may become necessary as directed by management.
• Manage Supplier relationship management including -

• Supplier solicitation, selection and qualification process
• Quarterly/bi-annual business reviews and scorecards

As a Finance Business Analyst, you will work closely in the system development and implementation of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system, that will be used by Hitachi's global clients. You will work closely with clients to gather requirements and understand their business processes. 

Upon completion of the training and shadowing, you will have opportunities to work with global projects in the APAC region. A flexible attitude is a must. You may expect to be assigned to a flexible work shift or possible business travel opportunities outside Singapore.

The key responsibilities will include:

1. Ability to understand, communicate, interpret client business processes and requirements.
2. Document requirements into a business requirements document.
3. Configure Dynamics ERP Finance modules – GL, Bank, AR, AP
4. Completed Accounting or Finance courses, CPA is required.
5. Strong communication skills
6. Exposure to at least one accounting system such as MYOB, Quickbooks
