Role Summary:

WWF is looking for an experienced and passionate individual to serve as the Global Lead for WWF’s Carbon Finance and Markets Taskforce. The Taskforce is co-led by WWF’s Forest Practice and Climate and Energy Practice to influence and promote best practices for carbon finance and markets around the world, and leverage credibly implemented carbon finance to protect and enhance WWF priority landscapes, seascapes and watersheds. The Taskforce leads on WWF’s positions on carbon finance and markets, including a blueprint for corporate action on climate and natureand guidance for high-quality climate investments for climate, nature and people. We are looking for a leader to help galvanize WWF’s existing work on carbon finance, further increase our internal capacity and ramp up our influence externally.

Four task teams enable the work of the Taskforce - a Demand Task Team, a Policy Task Team, a Supply Task team and an Expertise Hub. The Global Lead, Carbon Finance and Markets Taskforce is accountable to the Carbon Markets and Finance Core Team, supported by an Advisory Group.

The role will be based in Asia and will have an additional responsibility to help build capacity in the host office and across the wider Asia region.

• Provide strategic leadership for WWF’s work on carbon finance and markets, and delivery of its goals and outcomes and promote strategic alignment with WWF Office and Practice Strategic Plans; this includes but is not limited to:

Job Purpose

The Associate, Partnerships and Events will take lead and responsibility for organising programmes and fundraising events for the organisation while securing and building partnerships and creating awareness on our programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning and Execution

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams / internal stakeholders to deliver high- quality programmes and fundraising events
• Work with the Manager Partnerships to plan and coordinate the flagship fundraising events in addition to developing new and sustainable fundraising initiatives
• Work with the team to manage all aspects of events including logistics, timelines, resources and budgets as required
• Liaise with the respective government agencies to secure any permits, licenses and / or matching donations for the eligible events
• Collaborate with the Communications team to create engaging event materials, including invitations, promotional collateral, and presentations and assist with social media outreach
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and venues to ensure smooth event operations
• Oversee event setup, including registration, audio-visual requirements, signage,and seating arrangements among others
• Coordinate event staff, and onsite activities to ensure a positive attendeeexperience
• Secure and manage volunteers for the events
• Conduct post-event evaluations to measure the success of events and engagementactivities and provide recommendations to continuously improve future events and engagement strategies

Partnerships

• Work with the team to plan and implement partner / stakeholder engagement strategies to foster positive relationships and enhance brand awareness
• Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders such as partners, sponsors, volunteers and members through different channels, including email, newsletters, and social media to build partnerships
• Assist to develop and plan donor management and coordination including memberships and periodic donations
• Work with the Programmes Team to understand the nature of the scope of UWS programmes and to ensure the programmes are adequately supported and funded
• Work with the team to plan, coordinate and execute activities for members,volunteers and interns
• Maintain clear channels of communication within the team and the organisation
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Competencies:

• Two + years of experience in the relevant roles including experience in event management. Experience in fundraising events is an added advantage.

• The position seeks to provide cross functional coordination support and technical oversight in funding proposal development, funding compliance and report generation in line with donor/corporate/partner/volunteer group requirements for the planning, funding, implementation, evaluation and reporting of the respective programmes they support.
• The position will focus heavily on proposal coordination and design, as well as ensuring regular project reporting and the necessary compliance. It will also include donor/partner engagement and information management.
