Accountant Intern report to the accountant and Managing Director of the organisation. He/She is involved in most, if not all aspects of accounting and oversees the day-to-day activities of the companies. About the role

We are looking for the Head of Accounting, who will report to the Country Head of Sleek Singapore and be part of the management team. Given below is the Mission and Outcomes over the next 6-12 months.

Mission: The Head of Accounting leads the team, driving process transformation, compliance, and profitability. They ensure team competency and client satisfaction through timely, accurate, and high-quality deliverables.

We are seeking a graduate-entry Consultant to join our Forensic Accounting and Economics team in Singapore.  This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the Forensic Accounting and Economics team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional junior accounting positions. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a keen interest in forensic accounting, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

The Consultant will assist in the quantification of damages, valuation of businesses, assessment of commercial insurance claims and other assignments.  Reporting ultimately to the practice leaders of our ‘Forensic Accounting – Insurance’ and ‘Economic Damages & Valuations’ teams in Singapore, the role will provide opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including as part of multi-disciplinary teams (for example, alongside colleagues from J.S.  Job Responsibilities

• The team handles the full range of disputes requiring the quantification of economic losses including contractual and shareholder disputes, fatal accident and personal injury matters, white collar crime and civil fraud and investor-state disputes. Insurance claims include property damage, product recall, liability, theft/fidelity, and business interruption/lost profits. Businesses will consist of a wide range of industries and sizes.
• Use your knowledge of Excel to interpret and analyse the financial and operating information disclosed to our team in the course of assignments.
• Undertake research using public sources and paid information sources to which the firm subscribes, in order to identify data which will help the team to develop robust and defensible economic models.
• Draft requests for documentation to be used in our analysis (in the form of discovery requests and document request lists).
• Assist in the preparation of expert witness reports, written advisory reports and working summaries to be sent to clients. You will be the first set of eyes to make sure documents, transactions and information is accurate by flagging important details for senior team members to review.
• Organize supporting documentation and process data obtained for financial investigations.
• Assist with other assignments ranging from unusual insurance claim-related matters to investigation and advisory projects.

Accounts Duties

• Understand business profits and financial position

Admin/ Warehouse Duties

• Researching and organizing data requested by Directors and Operations Manager
• Compiling and processing expense reports for the company
• Handling memos, reports, invoices, and related documents, including sensitive information.
• Office duties such as sourcing and managing office/ showroom supplies and handling the filing system.
• Management of sub-tenants eg. invoice and collection for monthly rental and resolving/ liaison for tenant feedback or issues.
• Management of the company's insurance policies and requirements.
• Assist with correspondence and coordination with freight forwarders for local customs clearance and GST permit.
• Assist with Warehouse and inventory admin duties.
• Coordinate tasks with every member of the company. Ensure smooth execution of daily operations with respective sections and teams.

   Highlight discrepancies or potential areas for improvement in financial processes.
   
4. Compliance and Risk Analysis:Ensure financial records comply with regulatory frameworks such as GAAP or IFRS.
   Identify operational risks and inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
   
5. Teamwork and Communication:
   • Work closely with senior auditors and managers to meet project timelines.
   • Communicate findings effectively to both internal teams and client stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• Educational Background: Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel). Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) is often required.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
• Certifications: Progress toward professional certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is often preferred.
• Experience: Internship experience in accounting or auditing is often advantageous, though many positions are open to fresh graduates.

•       The incumbent will be one of the team members to support the preparation and submission of MAS regulatory reports.
•       Adapt and cater for constant developments within the regulatory framework and to advise and guide business units towards the proper and timely compilation of the required data.
•       Collaborate with Compliance, IT and various stakeholders on regulatory reporting matters and implement regulatory changes including comments on consultation papers.
•       Assist with MAS information requests and queries on MAS returns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy and Planning

Requirement:

• At least a LCCI Certificate in Accounting/Book-keeping.
• 3 years working experience in financial administration.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Carry out school financial functions, processes and procedures.

Technical Team

The technical team is an independent team of experts within IQ-EQ providing technical and industry reporting standards advice to global client services teams, sales and implementation teams, and global clients within the Funds & Institutional segment.

The core part of technical team work is focused on 3 key areas –

1) Technical Advisory (technical accounting and PE/RE industry / regulatory related queries, technical support to sales and implementation team for new clients etc) ;

2) Technical Reviews (technical / quality reviews of financials, key accounting policies and other complex deliverables); and

3) Technical Updates (monitoring latest accounting, industry and regulatory updates. Issuing technical alerts for internal teams and clients. Delivering technical presentations and other specific training modules for accounting teams).

To facilitate the delivery of the 3 key areas effectively to the stakeholders, a technical team member will be at the forefront of the private equity and real estate fund industry developments, including but not limited to financial reporting.

Job Summary

• Resolve technical accounting queries raised by the Client Services (CS) team and clients in a timely manner
• Provide technical support to sales and implementation team for prospective and/or new clients
• Perform/oversee the reviews on the working papers, financial statements and other complex client deliverables (including quality reviews). To help shape and ensure product quality control of the CS output

Purpose of the job

Main responsibilities

• Handle full or partial sets of accounts (monthly, quarterly and yearly) for the portfolio of clients
