Job Summary:

The Director of Catering Sales is responsible for the operations and results of the Catering Sales department. This includes strategizing and leading the Catering Sales Team to achieve the budgeted revenue goals. Leading the team to provide our guests with specialized and personalized service for events and group accommodation management with responsibilities revolving around ensuring a smooth transition Pre-Sales to Post Event Phase. This can be achieved through effective account management and precise communication of event details to the Banquet Operations team. In addition, one of the key deliverables is to ensure optimum level of profitability achieved.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Meet or exceed individual and group catering sales target set by the management

2. Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Sales in evaluating current and potential markets/trends, coordinate all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume, maximizing the potential of function space and higher rates.

3. Maximize sales and upselling/cross-selling opportunities through soliciting new catering accounts and maintaining relationship with existing accounts

4. Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities (both internal and external)

5. Managing Sales Activities for the catering sales team (including sales calls, site inspection, telemarketing, generating proposals, agreements and follow up action)

6. To assist in the development and implementation of the annual business plan, by providing market and client feedback

7. Collaborate and communicate with the relevant departments to meet guests' requirements and to ensure high level of customer satisfaction is achieved

8. Timely and accuracy preparation of Group Resumes, Banquet Event Orders, Internal Reports and Billing

9. Drive Marriott Bonvoy membership to achieve the overall hotel goal

10. Participate in any trade events and projects being assigned on ad-hoc basis

You will support the development and execution of strategic partnerships and initiatives to drive regional growth and enhance the competitive positioning of Lianhe Zaobao & ThinkChina within the region. You will also be involved in assisting in the collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities, support partnership negotiations, assist in regional event planning and execution, and contribute to the successful implementation of strategic projects.

Strategic Planning and Analysis

• Support market research and analysis efforts to identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges.
• Assist in sharpening the target audience persona for each identified market.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.

Partnership Development and Management

• Support the identification and assessment of potential partnership opportunities.
• Assist in developing and implementing partnership agreements.
• Assist in managing relationships with partners and address any issues that arise.

Regional Events Planning and Execution

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing regional forums and events.
• Support event logistics, including coordination of venue selection, vendor contracts, and participant registration.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with various departments to ensure integration of strategic initiatives into broader company operations.
• Support communication and collaboration efforts among internal teams and external partners.

Regional Marketing

• Coordinate with the Branding and Marketing team on regional marketing strategy.
• Track the execution and outcome of regional marketing activities.
• Work with the circulation team on subscription promotion activities in the region.

Any other tasks, special projects, duties, or responsibilities assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Chinese Studies, Southeast Asia Studies, International Relations, Journalism, or other relevant disciplines
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in the areas of business development, media and events management i.e. organising conferences, forums and webinars; candidates with more years of relevant working experience will be considered for a managerial role
• Prior experience in handling China-related businesses, SE Asia-related business or industries will be advantageous
• Effectively bilingual in written and spoken English and Chinese as this role supports Chinese publications
• Good knowledge and interest in China/SE Asia and international relations; knowledge of Southeast Asia, Hongkong and Taiwan is a plus
• Possess strong partnership/stakeholder management capabilities and project management skills
• A self-starter, especially in the areas of stakeholder/partner engagement/management
• Willingness to travel as this is a regional role

Role and Description:

The candidate is to support the Finance and Accounting departments by handling various of accounting functions.

Responsibilities and competencies:

1. Perform double-entry accounting to record and process all business transactions such as (sales, purchases, payables, receivables, cash, inventory, accruals, prepayments, capital structure, and finance cost) in the accounting system.
2. Reconciling of accounts payables/receivables.
3. Prepare trial balances for financial reporting accurately.
4. Preparation of relevant accounting schedules for audit.
5. Assist in cash management and payment processing via online banking platform.
6. Assist with various accounting tasks such as (bank reconciliations, journal entries and general ledger).

Complete the above duties on time and meet timeline given.

• Good judgment, professional, diplomacy and discretion, sense of urgency and initiative.
• Possess excellent command of written & spoken in English and Mandarin (in order to liaise with Chinese speaking Senior Management, Associates and Guests).
