This project will focus on the multi-agent search problem, where multiple autonomous robots (agents) are tasked with spreading over a given region to be explored, to locate given targets of interest trying to evade detection. The number of targets is unknown, and their initial position is not known as well. There might be obstacles in the domain, and their location might or might not be known. Throughout this work, we will assume that robots can communicate their observations (presence/absence of targets) during search, via local or global communications, so they can update their representation of the domain and likely location(s) of targets (more details about this representation in the next Section). Our goal is to allow robots to plan efficient search paths to cover the domain and localise the targets as quickly as possible, while relying on local sensing and on distributed intelligence rather than on centralised planning, which would represent a vulnerable bottleneck and would not scale well to large agent teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Producer and Executive Producer in all pre-production, production and post-production matters.
• Assist in liaison work with internal production units and external companies.
• Work with the production team to prepare/break down the finalized scripts for production. This includes arranging/scheduling and attending production meetings, location scouting, audition/casting meetings, set design meetings and script reads/rehearsals with the talents.
• Assist the producer on location/in studio during production with regards to crew, cast or crowd control. Requisition for props and costumes. Ensure that all props and costumes are ready for actual filming.
• Ensure there is continuity of costumes and props during production.
• Help with all duties/follow up for post-production which includes media logging, transcribing, transferring of tapes, dialogue dubbing etc.

• ‘A’ Levels or Diploma in Media related studies.
• Preferably with at least 1 year experience in Production or Production related environment (TV or Film)
• Able and willing to work irregular hours.
• Able to speak, read and write Chinese in order to communicate with the Chinese departments and personnel. 

Training Administration

1. Administer online training registrations and issue invoices from the registration portal

2. Ensure all invoices issued are paid on time. Take proactive steps to manage overdue invoices to reduce the aging of accounts receivables

3. Maintain up-to-date trainers' resume, profile, and agreements (agreed fees), as well as claim records for internal control and audit purpose

4. In charge of administrative, logistics and technical support in both in-person training and online training (setting up the room/zoom, room booking, arranging for cleaning, refreshments, equipment, attendance taking)

5. Maintain records of training events in compliance with programmes funding requirements.

6. Manage post-learning activities, including course evaluations and record-keeping

One Faculty Position in Feminist Political and/or Economic Geographies in/of Asia
Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore (NUS) seeks to appoint one scholar, at the Assistant Professor rank, whose research and teaching engage the field of Feminist Political and/or Economic Geographies in/of Asia, broadly defined. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the Department’s Politics, Economies And Space (PEAS) research group.

While recruitment is not limited to the following topics, we particularly welcome applications from political and economic geographers working on theoretical and empirical issues related to:
• Feminist geopolitics investigating borders, refugees, emotions and nationhood/national identity
• Feminist urban politics (e.g. social movements and gender politics in Asian cities)
• Feminist political ecology including work on gendered environmental rights, knowledge and justice
• Feminist research on labour geographies and global production networks

For candidates who do not have previous experience of researching in/on Asia, it is important to demonstrate evidence of an ability and willingness to develop research projects in/from the region.

The NUS Department of Geography has a long and rich tradition of political and economic geography research, with well-established strengths in scholarship on global production networks, critical geopolitics, political ecology and urban politics in the Asian context. In more recent years the PEAS research group has developed other research strands including comparative urbanism, agrarian and environmental change, transnationalism and state-firm relations, financial geographies and geopolitics of infrastructure. We are thus particularly interested in a scholar who is able to draw on feminist perspectives to contribute to and extend the group’s existing research foci.

PEAS members have strong collaborative relations with colleagues in the other two research groups in the Department (Social and Cultural Geographies, SCG, and Tropical Environmental Change, TEC) and scholars in cognate disciplines, particularly as part of the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Qualifications

In terms of teaching and academic responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to:

a) Contribute to the Department’s internationally recognised research activities;
b) Teach a minimum of two modules per academic year at the undergraduate and/or graduate level;
c) Perform administrative/service duties commensurate with a tenure-track/tenured appointment.

As a part of the NRF Fellowship Project on Materials-by-Design, School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is looking to hire a Research Assistant with expertise in high-throughput synthesis of inorganic materials and optimization using machine learning. The Research Assistant will build upon our team’s experience toward developing high-throughput experimental platforms for synthesis, characterization and functional performance testing (thermoelectric performance, catalytic performance) of a library of materials.  The Research Assistant will focus on synthesizing and characterizing inorganic materials, specifically inorganic chalcogenides for thermoelectrics and metal alloy catalysts for CO2 reduction.

Additionally, the Research Assistant will conduct in-depth structural and elemental characterization and analysis of the materials using XRD, SEM-EDX and XPS. Finally, thermoelectric measurements experiments will be conducted. The Research Assistant should be able to utilize design-of-experiments and high-throughput experimental workflows. In addition, materials science and metallurgical concepts such as phase diagrams, mapping and separating different phases and oxidation states of compounds and rapid structural analysis are required. Finally, machine learning will be applied to guide experimental campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct synthesis of inorganic thermoelectric materials using various high-throughput synthesis techniques.

• High-throughput synthesis of materials for CO2 reduction will also be conducted.

• Develop new high-throughput methods, and accordingly modify hardware for their execution.

• Perform in-depth characterization of synthesized materials using XRD, SEM, and EDS.

• Deploy machine learning techniques to guide future experimental campaigns. In addition to regression methods (Gradient Boosting, Random Forest) it is desirable to be familiar with Bayesian Optimization.

Job Requirement

• Bachelors or Masters in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with research experience in synthesis and lab skills

• Experience in inorganic synthesis of nanomaterials and solid-state compounds.

• Experience in advanced analysis of X-ray diffraction e.g. through Rietveld refinement

• Knowledge of Bayesian Optimization

• Ability to work in a team with clear communication skills and to develop own ideas in 1-2 years' time.

• A can-do attitude in a fast-paced research environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administrative support to scholarship, applications, admissions, reports, statistics, and research attachment.

• To provide guidance to faculty and students whenever required for postgraduate programme document submission such as PhD and MEng.

• To liaise with ACR and OA on various administrative process.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Operations

• Manage, plan, and coordinate facilities and equipment in the EEE laboratories.

• Provide technical expertise on the facilities setup for existing/new research/joint industrial projects.
