The Southeast Asia Business Exchange initiative was announced by the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese at the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Forum in Jakarta on 6 September 2023 as part of Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. The Southeast Asia Business Exchange Team will support Australian exporters to enter, compete and grow in Southeast Asia. They will also support efforts to boost two-way trade. As part of the program, Austrade team members will:

• Seek to strengthen Southeast Asia literacy in the Australian business community including driving awareness of the opportunities in Southeast Asian markets to Australian business and consumers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including industry bodies, business councils, and chambers.

The Southeast Asia (SEA) Regional Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in creating the commercial and policy outcomes for the program.
