Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are seeking an Assistant Programme Director for the Imperial/NTU CYber Protection for HEalthcaRe (IN-CYPHER) research programme on the cybersecurity of connected medical devices and systems. The research programme represents a collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at the newly established Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) as National Research Foundations Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE) located on the campus of the National University of Singapore. This senior role will be responsible for leading the coordination of the IN-CYPHER research team, working across the themes in collaboration with the Programme Co-Directors.

IN-CYPHER is comprised of four interacting themes, spanning the design of intelligent medical devices through to the use of their data in informing personalised healthcare. Allied to other programmes in Singapore and the UK, it represents a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of research and development into securing the vital information that flows between implantable, wearable and connected medical devices, including those currently in use, and those yet to be developed. The four themes of IN-CYPHER are:

• Theme 1 Protecting Implantable Devices
• Theme 2 Securing Connected Wearables & Healthcare Systems
• Theme 3 Algorithms for Privacy, Security and Provenance

One area of personalised medicine resides in the use of data for closed-loop drug delivery, including insulin delivery. With key researchers and teams from both Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, we seek to develop threat models that are suitable for emerging approaches to personalised medicine, and particularly where data-driven techniques might offer improvements to patient outcomes.

Given the span of the IN-CYPHER programme, we are looking to build up an interdisciplinary team of highly motivated engineers, scientists, and researchers to represent the founding team of the IN-CYPHER programme. The Assistant Programme Director, IN-CYPHER will be tasked with leading the coordination of this team working across the themes in collaboration with the Programme Co-Directors.

The collaborating Departments include senior academics from the Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction and the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial – the largest Biomedical Engineering Department in the UK – and senior researchers from the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University. Candidates will be employed by Imperial Global Singapore, a research division of Imperial College London, consistently ranked within the top 10 of the QS University Rankings. Research Assistant (Infectious Disease Modelling)

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time, experienced research assistant to model the impact and cost-effectiveness of innovative human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination strategies and other infectious diseases. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with a team of experts, and work on other infectious disease analyses.

Job scope:
• To undertake high-quality research, including contributing to drafting major grant proposals and/or leading in drafting small grant proposals;
• To develop and extend mathematical and economic models of HPV vaccination and other infectious diseases.
• To support ethics applications;
• To contribute to peer-reviewed publications and other outputs, including as lead author;
• To collaborate with modellers, economists, and epidemiologists at NUS and other institutions.
• Contribute to drafting grant proposals and co-authoring publications.
• To review the latest research on HPV vaccination and HPV-related diseases regularly.
• To disseminate research findings through presentations at international conferences and meetings with key partners (e.g., WHO).
• To contribute to the broader research community through journal and grant reviews.
• To participate in mandatory NUS training and keep abreast of advancements in research methods.

Requirements:
• Experience with quantitative research, preferably related to infectious disease modelling.
• Strong analytical and data management skills using electronic medical records, clinical trials, and observational data.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R) and programming languages (e.g., R, C/C++).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.

The following knowledge and experience would be advantageous:
• Experience contributing to research grant applications.
• Experience with teaching and assessment (desirable but not essential).
• Experience with epidemiological modelling of infectious diseases (especially sexually transmitted diseases).
• Experience with data analysis using statistical inference techniques.
• Experience with health economic evaluations.
• Experience with parallel and/or high-performance computing.
