The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is part of the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research, sustainable built environment, and maritime energy and sustainable development. CEE holds a number of outstanding faculty and research staff in maritime studies who are reputable researchers in green shipping management and optimization, big data in shipping and port, sustainable shipping management, maritime strategy and supply chain management. CEE is also hosting the Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence (MESD CoE), which is the first maritime research centre supported by Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) with the mission to deepen Singapore’s maritime R&D capability and Singapore’s position as a global maritime knowledge and innovation hub.

To fuel further development, we invite applications for a tenured (Endowed Professor) faculty position in the following areas of Maritime Management.

We are seeking a candidate with an established international reputation in the research and education of the field of Maritime and Supply Chain Management. The candidate should demonstrate a strong inclination towards the domain of Maritime Management and Shipping and is expected to be an authority in at least one area within the domain. Those specialising in the areas of supply chain resilience, decarbonisation, and digitalisation are preferred. The candidate is also expected to work independently and jointly with other faculty members to attract funding in the relevant areas of research. This includes academic or societal impacts such as publication and citation metrics, track record of service to public, industry and academic communities, awards of research grants, impact on industry or international standing (e.g., delivery of keynote addresses in prestigious conferences).

Applicants should have at least a PhD in Civil or Construction Management. Suitable candidates must demonstrate strong and relevant research and teaching ability. In addition, strong interdisciplinary expertise is required in research areas such as construction automation, building information modelling, construction digitalisation, lean construction, built environment sustainability, systems modelling and risk management. Potential teaching areas include civil engineering management, building information modelling (BIM), engineering economics and project evaluation, information technology in civil engineering, construction technology and processes, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers for design requirements and specifications.
• Assist in Analog, mixed-signal, and digital IC design.
• Participate in RTL coding and verification for digital ICs.
• Support design verification tasks.
• Conduct circuit simulations and analysis using Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics tools.
• Assist layout engineers with floor planning.
• Analyze and debug silicon failures, suggesting design improvements.
• Contribute to the development of design methodologies to enhance efficiency.
• Document design work and test plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful tape-out.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalents.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Understanding the IC development flow in advanced CMOS processes, including design, layout, and tape-out.
• Understanding the fundamental theories of digital or analog circuit design.
• Capability to generate inventive designs and circuit solutions tailored to fulfill customer needs.
