Responsibilities

• Responsible for smooth kitchen production
• Assists executive chef in preparation and creation of menus
• Ensure adherence of all standard recipe cards from respective station
• Maintain high level of food presentation and standard food quality according to standard operating procedure
• Maintain & proper stock for the smooth running of operations
• Upkeep hygiene & cleaning of kitchen section
• Provide support ad hoc duties assigned by management & manager

Requirements

• At least 1 year relevant experience in catering
• Passionate in culinary skills
• Flexible, ready to learn, able to multi task
• Able to commit long working hours, weekend and public holidays

• Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers 
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting 
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget 
• Order new supplies, ingredients, and equipment for the pastry section, when needed, and within budget. 
• Ensure their section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations. 
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking 
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently 
• Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel 
• Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
