You will be responsible to assist with the efficient running of the kitchen, contributing to the overall success of the outlet, in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. The Junior Sous Chef is responsible to assist the Chef de Cuisine in managing his / her assigned kitchen operation as a successful independent profit center, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction, through planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the Kitchen operation and administration.

Your Profile

• Minimum 2 years work experience as Junior Sous Chef or 4 years as Chef de Partie in a hotel or large restaurant with good standards; preferably with experience in luxury international brands.
• Qualification in Kitchen Production or Management will be an advantage.
• Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
• Basic Computer Skills in MS Office, and Recipe Maintenance System is preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in leading a diverse team with varying degrees of experience and talents. Able to teach and inspire team members to be their best every day.
• Possesses an absolute "can-do" attitude especially when facing challenges.
• Able to work well under pressure.

REQUIREMENTS

A candidate who wants to become a head chef must acquire on the job training which is most important for career progress and advancement in the path of becoming a head chef.

A head chef must possess a lot of stamina and will power to be able to stand for long hours and work for extended hours too in order to experiment in creating new dishes.

The candidate should also possess good knowledge of food products and their availability in order to plan cuisine accordingly.

A head chef should have good organizing, supervising and time management skills to be able to oversee all the activities that take place in the kitchen in a proper manner.

Job Responsibilities:

• Experience and extensive knowledge in cooking indian food.
• Must be able to operate kitchen efficiently and supervise a team of staff.
• Keep track of all inventory, recipes and ensure quality of food is always at its best.
• Coordinate and carry out the preparation of all meals.
• Prepare meals using a variety of normal kitchen tools, as well as galley appliances such as food processors, mixers, blenders, ovens, and grills.
• Ensure quality of plating/packaging meals for customers.
• Rinse and clean dishes, pots, pans and utensils when needed and store things accordingly.
• Help clean and maintain all cooking items and service items in orderly and absolutely sanitary condition according to good health-keeping practices in keeping with government regulations.
• Ensure cleaning materials are stocked.

We’re currently looking for an experienced & self-driven chef to join our team.

Responsibilities includes:

1. Prepare and cook designated items on the menu within specified time
2. Responsible for the preparation of raw materials required for items on the menu
3. Ensure that all food preparation is carried out according to the Standard Recipes and Operating Procedures
4. Adhere to all statutory food hygiene and sanitation guidelines
5. Ensure regular maintenance of all kitchen equipment, machinery and accessories
6. Ensure all items prepared are done with the same level of quality and consistency
7. Assist in cooking and plating prepared items according to standards in the Kitchen Manual
8. Overseeing stock and ordering supplies
9. Proper labelling of all food items after preparation, maintaining stock level of all products and ensure correct rotation by FIFO.

Requirements:

1. At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
2. Able to commit shift, weekends and public holidays
3. Understanding of current SFA regulations, (hygiene and health, and safety legislations.
