Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems in building projects using BIM tools. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that the mechanical systems are efficiently integrated into the overall project design, from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Modelling:
· Develop and design mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) in 3D using BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.).
· Prepare detailed mechanical design models, drawings, and specifications for commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
· Ensure all mechanical models comply with project requirements, standards, and codes.
· Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to coordinate and integrate mechanical designs into the overall BIM model.
2. Coordination & Collaboration:
· Participate in design coordination meetings with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve clashes and ensure efficient project execution.
· Utilize BIM coordination tools like Navisworks to detect clashes and implement clash resolution processes for mechanical systems.
· Maintain up-to-date BIM models throughout the project lifecycle and assist with updates and revisions as needed.
3. Technical Documentation:
· Produce and maintain detailed documentation, including BIM execution plans, as-built drawings, and equipment schedules.
· Ensure that the mechanical models and drawings meet the company's quality standards and project requirements.
4. Project Management:
· Work closely with project managers and the BIM Manager to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
· Provide input on mechanical system design, constructability, and project risk management during the pre-construction and construction phases.
5. Quality Control:
· Perform quality control checks on mechanical systems designs and ensure accurate implementation of BIM models in the construction phases.
· Participate in site visits as necessary to verify that mechanical systems are installed according to the BIM model and design intent.
6. Innovation & Development:
· Stay current with the latest BIM technologies, mechanical engineering trends, and industry standards.
· Propose process improvements and BIM workflows to enhance team productivity and project outcomes.
Qualifications:
1. At least five (5) years of BIM modelling and design experience for mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects;
2. Experience with contract value of $10 million and above for building and infrastructure projects;
3. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Degree / Diploma in BIM. The Degree in Mechanical Engineering must be from a University recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore and / or accreditation recognized by the Professional Engineers Board Singapore;
