General Overview

The position is part of the Instrument Control and Electrical (ICE) team who is responsible for developing plans and schedules and providing advice to production and engineering team on all maintenance activities at the terminal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To advise management on relevant Acts & Legislation pertaining to environmental and health
• Monitor to air, water (ECM) noise pollution, waste management and vector control issues
• Liaise with license pest operator or agent
• To monitor noise readings and advise management accordingly
• To conduct regular site inspection, particularly on ECM, perimeter drainage system, silt facilities, poor housekeeping that will encourage pest breeding, workers living and cooking condition, sanitary facilities etc.
• Together with health supervisor to discuss findings & recommend measures to the occupier to correct non-compliances and verification of action taken
• Prepare fortnightly report to management on Environmental control
• To act according to what is stipulated in the company’s environmental programme, conduct review and make recommendation for improvements
• Conduct investigation on industrial diseases, pest infested area and implement measure to stop its spread & prevent recurrence
• To liaise with relevant authorities on environmental & health issues
• Implementation of departmental procedures to comply with ISO 9001; 14001; OHSAS 18001 standard requirements, documented procedures as well as client, companies, authorities’ requirements
• Any other related duties assigned by superior from time to time

Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) provides guidance, expertise, and services to ensure process and product quality of instrument products. The QAE supports compliance to the ISO 9001 quality system; internal auditing; material, process, and production controls; and other aspects of quality assurance to ensure compliance to standards, regulations, and guidelines. The QAE works cross-functionally with R&D to support new product introduction; with Manufacturing to create and modify procedures to ensure requirements are met; with Procurement to ensure incoming material meets specifications and suppliers meet quality standards; and within Quality to ensure overall compliance of products and processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to site safety requirements.
• Execute goals and strategy for corporate and site level activities based upon company’s business objectives.
• Support supplier quality management activities, including audits and supplier performance evaluations.
• Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances, leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 3 years of relevant working experience in a customer quality, process quality or engineering role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
• Ability to support Quality Management during audits and inspections.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and drawings.
• Knowledge of computer software like SAP, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize and work independently and proactively is critical for success.
• Previous experience in an ISO 9001, 13485 or GMP compliant manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with quality management system software for quality data tracking and document change management (e.g., TrackWise, MasterControl, Agile, QCBD, etc.) and internal auditor certification.

This is a quality engineering position. The incumbent shall execute the quality assurance role with good technical rationale and understanding, acquired from developing an appreciation of the industry practices, and applicable technology developments. Scope of work may include Quality management system improvement, quality assurance planning, supplier management, in-process quality control design and outgoing quality controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Management System according to ISO 9001

• Review and update Quality Management System procedures to meet the quality system requirements
• Maintain and update documents and records with proper documentation control & distribution
• Ensure system compliance & preparations for Management Review
• Manage internal and external corrective action reports (CAR)
• Maintain and improve the calibration management system
• Manage, conduct and improve internal audit programs and document review procedures
• Ensure readiness of all sections for both 3rd party certification body and customer audits
• Liaise with external auditors and certification bodies in conducting audits
• Conduct QMS and change management related training and coaching activities as part of organizational competency development

Product Development Framework

• Schedule decision gate review meetings on request according to regular review schedule slots
• Support technical project managers and department heads on preparation of project decision gate presentations in accordance to REC project execution guidelines, to ensure that projects are delivered timely and meet targeted technical and business objectives adequately
• Continuous improvement of the phase-gate review design and process

Product Certification and Reliability

• Manage the interface between international and national certification bodies and internal project teams in product certification compliance to international product standards (UL, IEC) and statutory requirements
• Maintain meeting minutes with certification bodies and file certification documentation in web-based database
• Monitor product reliability trends and analyze product testing results as part of reliability scope
• Initiate product reliability studies based on known data from internal and external testing

Supplier Management and Quality Assurance Planning

• Manage the qualification of new materials/suppliers.
• Manage the incoming quality of the materials
• Drive supplier quality through audits and efficient rating system and reviews to ensure conformance to specification and continuous improvement in system, procedures and processes.
• Develop and implement quality control plan for adequacy and suitability for the production
• Drive improvement of process and product quality by monitoring quality indicators (SPC, Yield, defect rates)
• Non-conforming materials and products management
• Benchmark, develop and implement inspection methods and procedures to meet quality objectives, product quality, quality assurance, technical goals and productivity savings.

Communication and Presentation

• Ability to communicate and present at all levels of the organization

Technical / Professional:

• Minimum bachelor's degree (engineering discipline preferred)
