Job Description & Requirements
· Ensuring installations are compliant with approved specification, current shop drawings and current space management drawings
· Testing installation in accordance with specifications
· Supervision of Electrical testing undertaken by subcontractors accepting
· Supervision of equipment turn-on, trial runs and commissioning. The scope includes troubleshooting
· Resolving site co-ordination problems with contractors and agreeing solutions. Providing proactive feedback to engineering where proposed site determined decisions could affect the design intent
· Highlighting schedule concerns and manpower concerns to Precommissiong Department. These concerns shall be accompanied by an evaluation of Sub-contractor shortcomings
· Compiling Electrical Test checks and forwarding these to Electrical Superintendent for approval prior to the scheduled line check.
· Coordinate with Client representative to witness electrical test
· Ensuring housekeeping is undertaken frequently enough to maintain a safe and neat workplace at all times
· Interacting with Construction Electrical Superintendent, and Quality Assurance / Quality Compliance Team, others Precommissioning Discipline Supervisors, Electrical Engineer, Safety Personnel, Client Representatives and Sub-contractors and their Foremen
· Arranging, planning and implementing internal punch-listing and punch-list clearing regimes in accordance with standard operating procedures
· Ensuring method statements are followed, positive collaboration in safety programs, active attitude in managing safety rules and not tolerate Insafe actions for other workers
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent
- At least 5 years of working experience in this position in oils and gas construction sites
- Able to read and understand electrical engineering drawings with basic CAD Software skills
- General knowledge of economic factors such as cost, profits, impact of decisions etc
- Able to work with people from different levels
