Role Purpose

This is a Contract opportunity (upto 6 months) to cover the responsibilities of the Head of Business Development, Global Banking Singapore.

The role is a senior leadership role, partnering with the HSBC leadership team to drive the development and execution of strategic initiatives within the Global Banking business with a view to attaining improved business performance and enhanced operating effectiveness as well as improved client experience.

Business Development is required to maintain consistent, close engagement with the Global Banking head and other Stakeholders to implement a wide range of initiatives which are central to the effective operation of the business.

Key responsibilities includes but is not limited to shaping and driving business strategy, cross product collaboration, planning and cost management, focusing on the effectiveness of business processes which impact banker productivity and overall client experience as well as driving the people and culture agenda.

Principal Accountabilities

• Supporting senior management in leading the development and implementation of business development strategies and initiatives focused on driving growth and business performance as well as enhancing Global Banking product and coverage capabilities.
• Championing and coordinating collaboration initiatives
• Responsible for overseeing and managing the overall cost profile of the front office including the prioritization and management of hiring.
• Working across Global Banking stakeholders as well as with functional partners to enhance the end to end client experience ensuring we are able to respond to banker and client feedback.

The product manager drives the development of key bancassurance-focused products.

Job Description:

The product manager is responsible for product design, implementation, product launch and post-launch product review and maintenance.

• The product design stage will include competitive analysis against similar bancassurance products in the market, as well as working with other LBUs in the region for product ideas. In instances where there is limited product information available, product manager will need to engage reinsurance for experience sharing.
• Engage stakeholders through product proposition presentations and soliciting product feedback from Partnership distribution to work with pricing team and reinsurers to develop products that meet customer’s needs while achieving business objectives.
• The implementation stage may include engaging the Product Development Team (PDT – a team made up of members from all departments who will be involved in the product launch) to ensure that systems are ready for the launch. During the implementation stage, the product manager is also responsible for preparing documents for the Product Committee Team (PGC – a team made up of the company’s EXCO members) for product approval, and subsequently the regional office (Group).
• During the launch stage, the product manager is responsible to review that all marketing collaterals (e.g. brochures, product pack, website, etc.) and any launch communications for product accuracy. The product manager is also responsible for Train the Trainer sessions if there is mandatory training for the launch.
• Post launch on-going maintenance of products to meet regulatory and Group guidelines.

JOB SUMMARY

• Assist the General Manager and Director of Finance with annual departmental budget preparation, replacements of FF&E and capital projects and provide supporting documentation when necessary
• Maintain an Annual Administrative Planner prepared by the Hotel’s senior management committee outlining all major administrative tasks and responsibilities and license/regulatory tasks (i.e. life safety drills) for the calendar year and trace tasks to be completed.
• Maintain a trace list of all licenses and major warranties and service agreements which is to be updated annually.
• Other ad-hoc assignments and assistance to the General Manager as needed.
• All other administrative projects and duties.

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree holder in business administration or related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of previous experience in a similar position.
• Experience in the hospitality industry will be an advantage.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and ability to professionally represent the hotel and the GM office.
• A good schedule planner.
• High professional standard of integrity and confidentiality.
• Adaptable and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skill to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels, including during difficult or challenging circumstances.
• Ability to work under pressure and be flexible.
