As a Management Accountant, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Senior Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of the Finance function. You will implement positive process changes to allow Finance to support key stakeholders as the business scales. Your responsibilities will span across various areas such as ownership of the monthly accounts close process, preparing weekly cash flow forecasts, liaising with Client Owners for accurate revenue recognition, and supporting external auditors during audits. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to manage and support the development of an Assistant Management Accountant.
- Take ownership of the monthly accounts close process, including posting of all month-end journals and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare the weekly cash flow forecast.
- Liaise with Client Owners to ensure revenue recognition is appropriately reflected in the revenue tracker.
- Prepare payroll and pensions.
- Oversee the timely raising of POs / invoices and collection of client debt.
- Support external auditors during the year-end audit, including preparation of all key schedules.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis as required.
- Manage and support development of Assistant Management Accountant.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position should be a qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) with a strong background in managing month-end processes. You should have experience liaising with external providers including payroll and audit. Your strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work closely with non-finance staff will be crucial in this role. Being able to work independently while meeting deadlines is essential. A proactive approach coupled with problem-solving skills will set you apart. Intermediate knowledge of Xero Accounting would be advantageous.
