The Role

As the Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for performing daily finance and accounting functions for the Asia private equity funds. Additionally, the Fund Accountant is expected to help coordinate on valuations, investor services, and tax compliance as related to the funds.

Job Purpose

This role sits within the Singapore finance department which is responsible for regulatory, tax, financial and management reporting and which works closely with other finance teams in Asia including the regional finance team.

Job Description – Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Regulatory & Tax reporting

· Supports the preparation of reporting to external stakeholders such as MAS and IRAS.

Financial reporting

· Assist in the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process.

· Assist in the annual external audit process and preparation of annual financial statements. Helping to ensure Singapore and group reporting deadlines are completed in a timely manner.

· Help to maintain accurate ledgers through the production of balance sheet reconciliations and analytical information to ensure appropriate treatment.

· Preparation of monthly journals in line with appropriate policies.

· Adopt a continuous improvement mentality regarding processes, reporting and controls.

Management reporting & business partnering

· Preparation of management information reports to help understand the performance of the business.

· Assist in the budget and forecast process.

Treasury operations

· Assist in the preparation over the cashflow forecast and implement the company’s Treasury strategy.

The candidate is expected to provide client services, support to Fund Operations Team, and facilitate the projects related to operation efficiency optimization and expansion of the business.

Responsibilities:

Fund Accounting

• Ensure accounting books and records for assigned funds, financial reports and other reports are well maintained, accurate and complete in a timely manner
• Ensure accuracy of reconciling transactions with brokers and custodians
• Monitor day to day management of fund dealing operations and liaising with transfer agencies
• Prepare regular reports and filings to regulatory bodies
• Perform due diligence and/or service review for the counterparts
• Undertake primary responsibility for the provision of fund services to investors
• Ensure internal/external audits are properly and efficiently carried out

Fund Investor Services

• Manage the process of all subscriptions, redemptions, transfers and switching
• Monitor and ensure the Know-Your-Customer and Anti-Money Laundering identification are properly done and completed
• Ensure client enquires/complaints including institutional clients, distributors and professional investors etc. and internal departments’ requests are properly handled

Others

• Cooperate with other teams and team members to ensure timely resolution of requests and problems
• Carry out any other duties and responsibility given by Management

Qualifications

• University degree/postgraduate degree in Finance or Accounting
• Min 5 years experience in fund services, financial industry, or banking industry
• Good understanding and knowledge of the administration of accounting, fund, custody and banking services, etc.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with team player credentials

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and timely client reporting deliverables for a number of mandates (multi-tier investmenet structures)
• Collaborate with existing program finance team as well the internal stakeholders and external parties such as administrators.
• Review and verify client deliverables, working with service providers and perform first review such as monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Perform and review reports such as currency exposure, capital call and distribution calculations
