Summary:
The Managed Service Technician provides technical support (level 1 troubleshooting) and expertise for clients, ensuring their IT systems are running efficiently. They handle incidents, perform regular maintenance, and support the deployment of new solutions, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
Responsibilities
Technical Support (level 1 troubleshooting)
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues for clients.
- Provide on-site support as needed.
- Respond to tickets and inquiries within agreed timelines.
System Maintenance:
Ā· Monitor and maintain client systems, networks, and servers.
Ā· Perform regular updates, backups, and preventive maintenance tasks.
Ā· Ensure all systems are patched and protected against vulnerabilities.
Installation and Configuration:
- Install and configure hardware and networking equipment.
- Deploy new systems and applications based on client requirements.
- Document configuration changes and create support materials.
Client Management:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand and address their IT needs.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for improving IT operations.
- Maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Incident Management:
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level technicians or engineers.
- Document incidents and resolutions in ticketing systems.
- Analyze recurring problems and suggest long-term solutions.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1+ years in IT support, network administration, or a related role.
- Open to fresh graduates with at least a Diploma in Engineering or any IT hardware related certification
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and routers.
- Experience with IT hardware
- Experience with audio visual technology would be advantageous
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Work Environment:
- On-site and office work depending on client needs.
