Job Description
After incubating 12 unicorns and hundreds of startups, BLOCK71 is redefining the ways we support and interact with founders and the startup ecosystem at large. BLOCK71 Group Marketing was created in response to this: to enhance internal marketing capabilities, to refresh BLOCK71's brand resonance, and to co-create new propositions for the global startup community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Brand Management: Interpret the central brand guide and guide country teams in its application across organic and paid channels. This means having a solid understanding of how media planning works and being strong in performance analysis to optimise for the best results.
- Content Creation: Develop content customised to the unique traits of each platform. For example, a LinkedIn post should 'feel' different from a newsletter; a press release should be different from a message blast to our founders community. In other words, possess sensitivity to media consumption patterns and have a knack for adaption.
- Industry Insights: Be in tune with the latest developments of the startup world and advise Group Product on the best ways to structure output so that BLOCK71 remains at the forefront of meeting founder needs.
- Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve marketing objectives.
Qualifications
The role is best suited for an analytical and creative individual who enjoys approaching things from different angles and come up with innovative ways to capture the public's attention.
This person writes well, conceptualises well and is conversant with different communications channels. He/ She functions well in a fast paced environment, where change is constant, and is able to grasp business needs well, and is able to quickly adapt marketing activities to suit changing market trends.
A marketer who understands that marketing is more than just communications, but also advocates for a seat at the product development table.
Technical competencies
- Degree with miminum of 5 years experience in marketing, preferably in startups, startup ecosystem
- Proven experience in regional marketing and brand campaigns
- Strong business acumen and solid understanding of the startup development landscape of Singapore
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Expert in optimising online and offline marketing channels
