Your responsibilities as Automation Engineering Lead / Manager

Ramboll is part of an EPC project, where we are working as engineering contractor for the EPC contractor located in Singapore. The Automation Engineering Lead / Manager will act as a representative for the engineering contractor during execution at their fabrication yard in the north of Singapore, during the fabrication of an offshore substation topside.

In your role as Automation Engineering Lead / Manager, your focus will be to ensure that the installation and commissioning of the SCADA system, Telecom systems, Fire Alarm System and instrument/control portion of the mechanical systems adheres to the technical requirements and the design already developed by the engineering contractor. • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure design integrity and resolve clashes effectively.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings to identify and resolve potential conflicts between different building systems.
• Utilize clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks) to identify and resolve clashes early in the design process.

Job Responsibilities:

• Embed relevant data into the model such as material specifications, manufacturer details, installation instructions, and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain model integrity and consistency throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring it remains up-to-date with the latest revisions.
• Generate reports and schedules from the model, including material takeoffs, equipment lists, and construction sequencing.
• Possess a strong understanding of ACMV principles, including ventilation rates, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.
• Be proficient in relevant BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks Manage.
• Stay updated with the latest BIM standards and technologies and assist with the preparation of as-built drawings.
• Provide technical support to the project team and contribute to the development and implementation of BIM workflows.

Skills and Qualification:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as an ACMV BIM modeller or a similar role.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and other related BIM software. Strong understanding of ACMV design principles and standards.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong independence and good communication in English

Job Description:

Assists and supports the Project Director in planning and controlling all project-based assignments.

• Assist in project activities: drawing submission, take off quality
• Involved in design, coordination and preparation of specification and plans and to liaise with Project Managers and Engineers for technical drawings and submission approval
• Prepare 3D structural models, shop drawings and fabrication drawings
• Attend meetings with client, suppliers, sub-contractors and consultants.
• Maintain good document control and filing
• Able to undertake any other duties assigned
• Liaises with internal parties within the company to implement projects.
• Assists in planning, scheduling and coordination to ensure proper engineering deliverables and compliance to engineering standards.

Requirement:

• Shop drawing preparation and well versed using Tekla Structures
• Min. 3 years’ experience (in structural steel is an added advantage)
• Independent and a team players to work with project teams and peers
• Good analytical, communication, organizing and interpersonal skills
