Job Responsibilities:

• To fulfil ship repair jobs afloat or shipyard
• Carrying out maintenance, service and repair of all mechanical equipment (Diesel Engines, pumps, gearboxes, couplings, alternators, hydraulic system, deck machinery etc) on board all vessels as assigned.
• Troubleshooting all the mechanical equipment on board vessels.

The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) is a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC) is an A*STAR-level entity hosted within IMRE. Laser Cleaning Technician (Part-Time)

We are looking for a laser cleaning technician to join our factory and be a key member of operations. You will be responsible for operating, troubleshooting, basic repairing, and maintaining the laser cleaning equipment(under manufacturer guidance), as well as training and supervising future new operators. You will also ensure the compliance with the environmental and safety regulations, and the quality standards.

To be successful as a laser cleaning technician, you should have a good understanding of English and a positive attitude to learn. Having a certificate in laser technology, engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, as well as at least two years of experience in laser cleaning or a similar industry is a plus but not mandatory. You should also have a valid N3 license issued by the National Environment Agency (NEA), or be able to obtain one within three months of employment. You should be able to learn advanced knowledge of laser cleaning principles, techniques, and equipment, as well as excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Respond to all Earthworks Contractor enquiries for his assigned route/ zone.
• Consolidate the list of high risk sites weekly and constantly monitor the earthwork progress of the contractors.
• Patrol transmission cable routes to ensure that preventive measures to cables are in place and that contractor complies with LRe’s requirements.
• Filled up site check report when carry out site visit via CGP App.
• Ensure have consulted SPPG for High Risk Sites
• To perform ESC standby duty to attend to cable/ gas pipe damage
• To carry out any other duties as and when assigned by supervisors.

What You'll Needs

• Diploma in any Engineering from recognized Polytechnics in Singapore
• Relevant working experience would be advantageous
• Possess a personal vehicle and able to use for work purpose
• Possess skills in project planning, execution, and management
• Good grasp of using Microsoft applications, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Highly motivated individual with a positive attitude
• Able to work independently, as well as in a team and in a challenging environment

• Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace.
• Conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis and depending on the length of the project.
• Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks.
• Maintain documentations of the company safety procedures,accidents and related events.
• Create and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed daily.
• Authorized to issue Stop Work Order (SWO), if any site work, process or work area is in imminent danger to workers, the public or pollution of the environment.
