About the Role:
In this role, you will support the site energy sustainability program and introduce good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The program shall be in alignment with the global energy conservation program and Singapore Energy Act. Support site to analyze energy efficiency opportunities, leverage expertise and manage projects to implement improvements.
Besides, you will support Engineering Services to meet profit plan targets, optimize cost effectiveness, and lower utility operation in accordance with cGMP and Safety guidelines, with emphasis on reliable and stable operation.
Critical Responsibilities but not limited to:
Cost Transformation and Energy Management
- Support cost transformation for utilities program. Will be the project owner, ensuring projects are implemented on schedule, validated in accordance to commitment and accuracy of reports. Conduct analysis; identify risks and proposal for mitigation and to report out to the governance committee.
- Support the site energy efficiency program and introduce good energy management practices to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact. The program shall be in alignment with the global energy conservation program and Singapore Energy Act. Support site to analyze energy efficiency opportunities, leverage expertise and drive projects to implement improvements.
- Support the site energy conservation program with all stakeholders to ensure site wide consistency in energy awareness, energy conservation and active participation in our site energy conservation program
- Support the computerized energy monitoring system for the site to drive efficiency and sustainability
- Support the development of annual and long-term strategic energy capital projects to ensure continuous energy efficiency improvement and energy conservation sustainability, in alignment with the site’s energy policies.
- Provide expertise in conducting energy audit, evaluating options and providing solutions
- Promote energy efficiency program for the company to ensure high level of awareness by all employees in energy usage and energy efficiency in equipment operation
- Network with the energy subject matter experts from other sites, the Global Energy Team, other Pharma Energy Improvement team and the government to recommend proven or new energy savings program and initiatives and continuously seek new energy conservation technologies with subject matter experts
- Monitor and analyze key performance indices and take mitigation actions to ensure objectives are met and where appropriate to escalate
Engineering Services Support
- Coordinate with GES on site process engineering design, construction and equipment validation activities when appropriate
- Supports Energy Lead – Engineering to develop Profit Plan forecast, execute activities to meet production, cost effectiveness, and cost reduction targets
- Any other tasks as and when assigned by Energy Lead
Management of Maintenance, Utilities & Facilities
- Support utility / process / system energy efficiency program – compilation of data, analysis of data and recommendation to stakeholders to reduce wastage or find alternative energy efficient methodology
- Collaborate with maintenance and utilities managers to ensure all equipment have an effective PM or predictive program to ensure all equipment are in high energy efficiency operations
- Support the development of system and program to track energy conservation projects, cost savings from new initiatives and prepare stretch goal for each year to reduce cost of energy for the site
- Prepare utility budgets, monitor actual billing spending and track energy conservation projects against this budget. Analyze and report out risk and mitigation plans.
- Coordinate the implementation of energy projects with utilities operation with least impact to manufacturing
Management of Capital Plans & Projects
- Recommend energy efficient process, system or proven equipment to Project Engineers in their capital planning process or in their capital procurement plan
- Coordinate and update global energy project planning system to maintain a good energy conservation pipeline for each year and over a 3-5 years period to ensure energy sustainability and reducing site energy consumption levels
- Ensure projects are timely, on budget and completed in compliance to safety and quality
- Due to diversity of the site and the complexity of projects, priority of projects and changes of priority affects the planning process. This position is frequently required to take appropriate decisions and actions to engage stake holders from peer level or next level managers for resolution. For the energy reduction role, he is to analyze, develop projects, prioritize and plan for the resources to complete the projects.

- Seek opportunities to improve company cGMP standards and move company towards goal of Sustainable Compliance
- Subsystem owner for QMS Chapter 18 – Plant Maintenance Calibration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related fields
- Singapore Certified Energy Manager
- At least 5 years’ experience in energy engineering, manufacturing, consultancy or equivalent industry
- Demonstrate leadership behaviour
- Project management expertise to execute large and/or complex projects, work in cross-functional teams to complete projects successfully within budget, schedule and quality requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations and divisional policies/guidelines, especially equipment design, equipment qualification, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
- Demonstrated capability in vendor service contracts management & knowledge of our System Life Cycle Methodology.
- Understands maintenance programs and requirements (reliability-centred, preventative, predictive).
- Stewardship awareness, including cGMP, regulatory inspection preparation, and SHE.
