You will serve as a financial advisor to stakeholders, providing strategic analysis and support. You will also act as an advocate for changes, addressing queries and concerns to facilitate the successful establishment of EGH, including contribution to new projects, digitization efforts, and service enhancements.

Your responsibilities will include completing the monthly accounts closure, preparing and reviewing of the statutory accounts and schedules to meet statutory, tax and GST requirements. Additionally, you will also prepare and review the Funding Papers, obtain approvals from the relevant stakeholders and ensure timely and accurate reports in accordance with the submission schedule.

You will also be assisting in the synthesis of data and reports pertaining to sustainability efforts submitted by the stakeholders and preparation of the presentation materials.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting and financial matters of the Church, maintain good governance and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Update and maintain Church Finance Manual.
• Work closely with Church leaders and Finance and Investment Committee on Finance, investment and governance matters.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly reporting to the Local Church Executive Committee and quarterly reporting to Finance Committee & Investment Committee.
• Consolidate annual budget, review individual ministry budgets on a quarterly basis.
• Manage the yearly audit/ad-hoc audit including preparation of Statutory accounts for Faith Methodist Church with the consolidation of Joint Management Committee (JMC) account.
• Submit reports to Charity Portal on the Church Account and Overseas Expenditure.
• Oversee the annual pledge exercise.
• Supervise Finance team in day-to-day accounting duties.

Requirements:

• Minimun Diploma in Accounting or equivalent with 8 years relevant experience in a supervisory role.
• Have strong accounting background with good working knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and statutory requirements.
• Proficient in using accounting software MYOB and MS Excel
• Hands-on, teamplayer, meticulous, good organization and analytical skills.
• 5 day work-week (Mondays – Fridays) and one Sunday in a month.

• Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations of Singapore office, working closely with the Finance Manager.
• Supervise and control activities of Accounting Shared Service Centre (“SSC”) – month-end and year-end closing process, accounts payable/receivable, general ledgers, expenditures variance analysis, intercompany account reconciliations
• Assist in analyses monthly financial results to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Business partner with other line of businesses (“LOBs”)/departments on Singapore related matters. Also, to act as the key point of contact between LOBs and SSC.
• Assist in the cash management, treasury function and preparation of cash flow forecasts. Custodian of petty cash and cheque book.
• Prepare & check incentive schedules for Moving and Relocation.
• Ensure Balance sheet records are up to date and accurate by conducting review and analysis on monthly basis.
• Take charge of annual physical stock-taking, inventory valuation and fixed assets accounting activity
• Review/prepare schedules and documents as required for statutory audit, coordinate and complete annual audits and taxes filing.
• Liaise with auditors, company secretary, tax consultants, bankers and other professionals regarding corporate regulations, tax, and banking matters to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Regularly review and enhance accounting workflow, accounting policies & procedures and internal control. Provide support to system upgrade.
• Assist in annual budget preparation by working closely with other LOBs. Monitor budget that has been set whilst continuously review and propose cost savings.
• Assist in South Asia Cluster and Singapore routine reporting, ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

Education, Qualifications and Work Experience

• A Professional Accounting Qualification e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years full set accounting/financial reporting experience/shared-function experience
• Knowledge of financial reporting requirements

Responsibilities:

• Perform day-to-day processing and accounting relating to AP/AR/GL functions, including checking and posting entries.
• Reconcile payments and/or receipts with the bank or related statements and prepare bank reconciliation reports when necessary.
• Prepare monthly journal entries for accounts closing and bank transactions.
• Prepare monthly intercompany and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly reports and accounting schedules.
• Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Diploma in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Meticulous, self-driven and highly motivated
• Team player and willing to cross-cover duties within Finance when required
