We are seeking at least one Postdoctoral Associate to join the "Mens, Manus and Machina—How AI Empowers People, Institutions and Cities in Singapore (M3S)" interdisciplinary group.

The M3S project is driven by the goal of investigating the nature of work, redefining our relationship with technology, and exploring how institutions can adapt to foster livability, sustainability, innovation, and social welfare.

The Postdoctoral Associate is in the T5 project for the five-year M3S program in SMART. The SMART team seeks to advance the frontier of AI research, apply it to society and cities, and demonstrate the concrete social impacts of the AI algorithms with broad public acceptance in Singapore.

Specifically, the SMART-T5 project seeks to develop innovative machine learning algorithms that nudge human activities to maximize the growth of social capital and economy. The project makes intellectual contributions by synergizing classical network theory and deep learning, with applications to urban mobility networks in cities. This synergy leverages the integrated data sets of micro human mobility (e.g. phone trajectory), social network (e.g. Twitter), transportation infrastructure, and macro socioeconomics, thus connecting the micro-behavioral mechanism to macro-economic development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, observe industry trends and analyse the competitive landscape in commodity and financial markets.
• Assist in developing marketing strategies aligned with the broad organisational objectives and work closely with other business functions to align marketing efforts with functional business objectives.
• Assist in planning and tracking marketing budget.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns to increase brand and product awareness.
• Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and promotional activities to increase visibility on Abaxx Exchange and connect with industry stakeholders
• Manage and optimise digital marketing channels including social media, email marketing and online advertising.
• Create compelling and informative content targeted at the commodity and finance audience through various marketing channel including social media, website, industry publications.
• Manage production of multimedia content
• Be proficient in writing and proofreading text and ensure that messaging resonates with target audience.
• Prepare and tailor marketing decks and documentation for various stakeholders.
• Ensure all marketing materials and campaigns comply with financial regulations and industry standards.
• Updating and managing our client database using a Client Relationship Management system

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in either Marketing, Finance, Business or a related field
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a marketing, sales and/or commercial development professional
• Demonstrable experience in sales and relationship management of institutional clients in the financial sector
• Strong understanding of financial markets, products and regulatory frameworks is helpful
• Prior experience in commodities is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive marketing decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
• Effective networker and be good at relationship management, thrive in a dynamic work environment
• Creative thinking and ability to tailor marketing strategies and content to specific audiences within the client and stakeholder

Responsibilities:

• Ensure coverage of relevant regulatory requirements and recommend improvements to corporate policies, procedures and practices
• Lead or participate in the planning for each audit assignment to ensure performance of audit assignments, quality of reports and timeliness of deliverables
• Develop audit plans and programs. Ensure that these documents are up-to-date and suitable to the current operating environment of the auditee
• Ensure timely reporting of findings, risks and recommendations for auditee’s response and finalisation of report to Audit Committee
• Lead or participate in other ad-hoc assignments including special projects and investigations
• Assist in the follow-up with auditees on outstanding audit findings through the issuance of Audit Tracking Report and verification of resolved findings;
• Ensure that audit operating standards and procedures are observed, and requirements of the Quality Assurance Review are met
• Assist in the administration of Group Internal Audit and ensure effective and efficient usage of the Department’s resources
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, preference will be given to those with Chartered Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor certification
• 5 to 8 years of relevant audit experience;
• Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills
• Analytical, independent and a good team player;
• Committed and able to interact well with all levels of staff;
• Able to travel overseas when required (once/twice every quarter).
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.

Technical Competencies:

· 8+ years of overall experience performing business analysis professional software engineering

· Any experience in IT transformation projects involving portfolio management system and/or Core banking applications

· Good knowledge of Portfolio Management, Advisory, Risk modelling and Optimization functions is added advantage

· Good knowledge of Order Life Cycle and related functions

· JIRA and Confluence knowledge is required
