Responsibilities
The System of System Architect plays a critical role in bridging the gap between technical expertise and business objectives.
• Technical Leadership: Providing technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers.
• Technical Expertise: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant regulations to ensure that the department remains technically competitive and compliant.
• Team Development: Mentoring and developing technical staff members, providing training opportunities, performance feedback, and career guidance to help them grow and excel in their roles.
• Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: Leading efforts to identify and resolve technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing effective solutions to ensure the smooth operation of technical systems and processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical capabilities and streamline processes within the organization.
Requirements
• Knowledge in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE) preferred.
• Experience in managing enterprise Linux (SUSE Linux) and Windows server environments in a complex IT infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of high availability and fault-tolerant system architectures, with experience in clustering, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL database maintenance.
• Familiarity with network protocols, monitoring, remote administration, routing, switching, and firewall configuration, particularly with Palo Alto, McAfee, and Checkpoint appliances.
• Experience with SAN storage solutions and storage area networks (SAN).
• Knowledge of Microsemi NTP (Network Time Protocol) for time synchronization across network devices.
• Manage a diverse range of hardware equipment, including Cisco switches, Sun Microsystems servers (X4170, X4170 M2), HPE ProLiant DL360 series servers (G7, G9, G10), and SAN storage solutions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse technical team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
