About us – National Digital Identity (NDI)
Imagine citizens having a common and secure digital identity that will make their lives so much easier, and open doors to a plethora of services for them - allowing citizens to do everything from accessing health prescriptions, completing government transactions to starting a bank account through their smartphone.
The Singpass team builds Singapore’s digital identity system. This includes various personal authentication protocols, data sharing tools, and corporate identity systems through Corppass. The mission of the Anti-Fraud team is to minimize the number of compromised Singpass accounts, and the damage done with them. This includes live monitoring for suspicious login behaviour, longer term fraud analytics, and collaborating with partners take action on compromised accounts.
What you will be working on:
- Work with partners to understand the evolving problems and strategize about what data and techniques would be needed to solve them.
- Lead discussions with business stakeholders to establish business requirements, evaluate technical feasibility and data availability required.
- Work with large, complex datasets and applying advanced analytical methods to build machine learning models and deploy the most appropriate solution.
- Build and develop machine learning-based models e.g. recommendation engine(s), predictive models and track their effectiveness.
- Apply the use of machine learning techniques (e.g. deep learning, neural networks, etc..) to improve the current analytics capability.
- Provide inputs to the design and development of an integrated data model to allow analysis across multiple structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build and operate production systems together with engineers to serve these solutions.
- Share your expertise and mentor other data scientists.
What we are looking for:
- Possess strong analytical, conceptualisation, and problem-solving skills. Able to take broad, strategic perspectives, and when necessary, drill deep to understand business needs and challenges.
- Familiar with machine learning models for forecasting, classification, and recommendations.
- Strong in statistical programming tools (e.g. R, Python) and database languages (e.g. SQL)
- Experience in leading a data science team.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to pitch ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels on the adoption of analytics.
- Able to present technical concepts and results of technical analyses to non-technical audience effectively.
- Adaptable to dynamic operating contexts and able to work with multiple stakeholders across different teams.
- Strong people manager who can inspire, motivate, and grow the team and has strong organisation skills.
- Have passion for improving public service using analytics and data.
